Mammoth 10 Bar Review

The Mammoth 10-Bar is a serious light. This thing is huge. It offers enough light to power a 5’x 5’ grow space and has a superior Photon Efficiency of 2.12µmol/w. The fixture itself is almost 4’ x 4’ when assembled and tips the scales at about 50lbs (22kg). It is an excellent light, but you got to have some space to set this one up. Fortunately, they also offer 8-Bar and 5-Bar options for smaller grow spaces.

The Mammoth 10-Bar is sold for 4’ x 4’ coverage. However, unless you are running supplemental CO2, it produces more light than can really be used in a 4’ x 4’ tent. Shane tested the light in a 5’ x 5’ space which follows our protocol for determining test area. However, the fact that the fixture is designed for smaller coverage at higher densities of photons may explain the drop off in edge PPFD readings during Shane’s test. Despite the larger testing area, the Mammoth 10 Bar has very good distribution of light.

The Mammoth 10-Bar is a quality fixture. The components are top-end and the build quality is excellent. It is easy to assemble, with bars that slide into place. They also offer alternative bars with supplemental wavelengths. It comes with both a dimming knob on the chassis and a control panel that allow you to dim the fixture and schedule the lights on/off cycle.

Bottom Line: This is a Huge Light! It will be awesome in a 5’ x 5’ grow space. If you have less room you could consider its smaller siblings, the 8-Bar or the 5-Bar. They are top quality lights with superior efficiency at reasonable prices.
