1st and a half time cannabis grower. Seriously though. I’m currently in the 2nd week of flowering in my hand-designed 3 bucket Recirculating DWC. I’m growing seedman Blueberry and White Widow and…. an Orange Tendersweet Watermelon. Hey what the heck right?
Therefore, these two seeds im popping tonight make this my first and a half time. Or is that my half-th time. I’m confused. Anyways since switching to a 1000w HPS and moving them my 4x4x7. I’ll be using leftover buckets, grab a new deflector throw my old 400w ballast and bulb in my 2x4x5 leftover air pump and make some bubble buckets. Until I get the deflector I’ll be growing the seedlings under a couple T-5 lights that seem to do the trick until the roots drop and it’s time for the veg tent. I’m excited and pumped to grow and learn from everyone, I’ve accumulated a lot of equipment not even realizing, gotten into mycology and suddenly am finding myself in a whole operation. Might be in over my head. We shall see.
I’ve went ahead and popped my Cream & Cheese CBD 1:1 and Tropicanna Poison in some plain ol paper towels and ziploc bags. It’s all or nothing. Once the taproot gets a nice length I’ll move them to rockwool cubes and get them under the lights. I didn’t intend on popping anything until I came across the challenge so it’s exciting just being thrown into it so to speak. Good luck every one! Happy Growing!
Although I shouldn’t be putting too much stress on my seeds I couldn’t help checkin on them 19hrs in since I germinated one of each and the pressure is on. So far, the Cream & Cheese has split so we’re off to a great start!
since I had a Home Depot store credit I ended up only finding a 400w MH bulb. I need an additional reflector and I have a 400w ballast already. I’ve set my original 2x4 tent up, extra buckets, cut for net pots, and grabbed my old air pump and stones.
Incidentally, I now have a “Veg” tent that I’m think will nicely tie into my existing set-up. Awesome!
This is my third attempt at this post for some reason.
Cream Cheese CBD 1:1 is coming along fabulously. Radicle is exposed and growing a couple millimeters every few hours. roughly. The Tropicanna Poison hasn't shown any signs of germination so I slapped some gloves on and grabbed a sterile blade and ever-so-slightly rode the blade along the seam of the seed. I'm sure that has a name and I'd love to know that if anyone would share. So hopefully by tomorrow the TP will crack.
I've got my seedling propagation tray loaded with Hydroton to fill and keep light out of the solution.
Can't wait to get those seeds tucked into the cubes! Hopefully in the next two days.

I’m only popping one at a time since it’s difficult to get them here and I’m on a tight budget. There were 4 originals and they all looked different. And I had a feeling that there would be germination issues. I ordered the Tropicanna Poison because it’s touted as the most ‘red’ cannabis flower. However, understanding the basics of genetics and phenotypes I know that popping one seed is a crap shoot. Either way it’ll Tropicanna Poison and I can’t wait to see what type of Terp profile it’s gonna have!
It’s the 2nd day since the CC true leaves popped through.
I moved the tray closer to the lights and placed the Trop poison seed wrapped in a towel on the heat mat. This mat gets too hot on its own so I never know leave them directly on its surface. If there’s no change tomorrow I guess I’ll just pop the last two.
If I weren’t on a budget for money and space I’dve just popped them all….
So unfortunately 0/4 of the Tropicanna Poison seeds germinated.
The 1 Cream & Cheese seedling is going strong on tap water alone. Roots have dropped past the cube and now im just waiting on my Reflector for the MH bulb I have.
-I went ahead and popped the single seeds of other strains I had. I figure I might as well maximize my space and resources.

My Light Reflector should be here sometime tomorrow and that’s when till be able to move the only seedling, Cream and Cheese to the veg tent. I popped two other seeds from Seedsman and so far the peyote gorilla seems to be doing ok. Next time I’ll be wiser with my seed purchases but I will also be cloning now that I have another tent.

I made one gallon worth for now and poured and saturated the seedlings rockwool cube. The roots are already numerous and healthy so I need to get them into the 5 inch net pots and into the buckets.
I moved the Peyote gorilla to a cube. A bit early in my opinion but just needed to catch it up a bit. At the very least I’m hoping to have at least two plants vegging. If not then I’ll be content with the CC.
I got my gull-wing reflector. It’s cheap but going whatever was available or practical I believe it will do the trick.
I also wanted to share a hack that I haven’t really seen used. I just happed to buy them by chance for other reasons. But smart plugs are cheap and you can set multiple timers if necessary for other equipment. This is the same way I control my lights in my flowering tent. Only I use a heavier duty outdoor Kasa smart plugs on 12/12 for the 1000w ballast. I’m using a 600w dimmable ballast at 50% with a 400w MH bulb on 18/6
My seedling looks great after the 1st 24HRS under the MH light. And leaving the tent cracked seems to keep the climate just in range so I’m happy.
