For this round I will be growing a strain called Black Lime Reserve which was bred by MeneGene of Mendocino and selected by Skunktek. I have been wanting to get my hands on this clone for a while so I am excited to finally be able to run a full tent of her.
These plants were started in Rockwool cubes and placed right into these 3gallon fabric pots. I would normally go to a solo cup first but I decided to bypass this time. The BLR grows very fast so I think it will be OK.
I am using Plagron Coco 70/30 and I did not buffer it prior to using. I will also be watering with CropSalt and nothing else. I will not be supplementing with CalMag or Silica or any other additives besides H202.
For lights, these are my oldest (3 years) panel LED lights that I bought from Alibaba. There are (3) 240 watt panels which is definitely overkill as this space is slightly smaller than a 4x4 tent.
For the training portion, I will let the plants adjust to their new home for the next week and I will then top them once, veg for a few weeks and then flip.
It has been almost a week since I put the clones in their new home. They are all starting to show new growth so they have adjusted fine. I decided to top only one of these plants as I wanted to stay in this group…. That being said, I topped the middle plant today.
lights are up around 90% and I am feeding the clones CropSalt at around 1200 EC. PH has been looking good at around 6.0 and temps have stayed steady. I am planning to veg these ladies another 10-14 days assuming everything goes as planned.
Things are really looking good with these Black Lime Reserve. The node spacing is great, they are growing at a good rate and I think I have the watering dialed. This is going to be a very basic grow with only feeding CropSalt the entire grow using the exact same EC of 1500 from start to finish. No Cal Mag, No Silica, zero supplements which includes a straight water flush and no flushing agents.
based on how big these plants are and how fast they are growing, I think I will be flipping to flower in next 7-10 days.
Today is flip day. I know I am ahead of the Oct 1st schedule but this is a small grow area and these ladies are already getting to be a good size. I have increased the feeding at about 2500EC and will stay here for the rest of the grow. The plants are stacking incredibly well with minimal node spacing.
I removed a few of the large fan leaves on each plant but will wait to clean up the lowers for another 10 days.
So….I thought that I flipped these plants on the 18th of September but I recently realized that messed up the timer. This means that the plants have been vegging for 8 days instead of flowering. I flipped them a few days ago and I am worried about their size. I currently have 5 plants and I am definitely going to have to clean them up really well but I may also have to remove a plant. It does not appear that this plant stretches a ton but the next 2 weeks will definitely tell me whether I will need to supercrop too.
I am still feeding CropSalt veg nutrients at over 2000ec and plants are doing well. I am watering 6x a day for about 10 seconds per interval and doing nothing else…..(which is why I didn’t realize the lights weren’t going off for past week).
I may have jumped the gun and cleaned these ladies up a bit early. Hopefully they don’t stretch too much more! They are a good height right now and the nugs will likely grow very close to the lights. I will watch closely in case I need to supercrop a branch or two.
I just switched to flower nutrients and I am feeding right around 2000 ec and PH of 6.0
The tent is getting increasingly crowded! I have cleaned up the lowers and keeping my fingers crossed that they don’t stretch more. I may have to supercrop them if things get taller so I will be watching closely over the next week.
I have started bloom nutes at about 2400 EC and the plants are doing well. Besides some issues with the watering system, everything is looking good. I think I will be switching to the Floraflex manifolds next as the openings are slightly larger and make clogs less likely
These plants are getting tall and I have had to supercrop a few branches already. This is what happens when you flip 12 days later than meant.
I could likely remove a plant and still be OK but I am going to leave them all anyway as I like the struggle. I am making sure to keep airflow high and humidity down as this tent is gonna continue to fill up over the next 2 weeks.
This tent is just getting more full and sprouting more bud sites. I am going to have to pull leaves off these plants to help with the airflow and this is something that I normally avoid. Everything is just so dense that I don’t have other choices.
The smell coming from this tent is an intense Lime smell unlike anything that I have grown before. I am super excited about this harvest and I hope I can keep this tent under control for another 4-5 weeks as I have a ton of time left still.
It has been almost almost two weeks since the last update. With daylight savings time it is even harder to get in and take pictures with the lights off. This tent is still overly full, I have tried to remove lower leaves and have tried to remove some of the fan leaves but it hasn’t helped a lot. I will be putting in a dehumidifier in the next day or so to make sure I don’t have any problems as I enter late flower.
The flip schedule on this post is off and I am around day 40 right now. I still have 3 weeks!!!!
This tent is still rocking along OK. Plants are definitely taller and closer to the light than I like but luckily they are still looking good. The intense fresh lime smell is starting to turn skunky now as these plants enter their last few weeks of life. Here are a few nug pics to show the resin rails forming and the beautiful frost.
Sorry for the lack of updates but the tent has been hard to access with the time change and me being so busy. This tent is still ticking along and still has about 2 weeks left. The canopy is only 6 inches from the light and it is definitely too dense. With that being said, I am running the dehumidifier at 55% and I will keep it on until harvest. I will start reducing the nutrients over the next week and then feed with water only for the last 7 days.
I will likely wash the majority of this tent so I will watch the trichomes closely as I don’t want it to get too ripe.
This tent is still maturing and hasn’t been harvested. The buds are definitely for taking from being to close to the light but they still look frosty, smell amazing and the sample nugs that I pulled and dried are amazing. I flipped on the IR lights last week as well for the heck of it and I will be pulling these plants Thursday I think. I am heading to the Emerald Cup in Santa Rosa Friday - Monday so I think I want everything hanging or in the freezer before I leave. I will likely just cut the tops to save two ounces of flower and then wash the rest. I am super excited for this hash as the terpenes are strong !!!!
