This'll be my first grow journal on here and I figured the NYGC would be a good intro to the online forum. I'll be growing a strain called SKUD (706 sherbet x Pineapple Sherbet) by Terp Fiend. I've germinated the 5 reg seeds and all have popped up as of this am. Will get some shots of the seedlings later. They will be moved into 3.5" of promix, then a 1g of SoHum living soil, then a 3g, then a 7g finisher. They started under x2 Black Dog LED PhytoMax-2 200's at ~400 umol/s/m and will move to tents with x3 PM-2 200's as they mature for a total wattage draw of around 630W. Temps will generally be in the mid-to-upper 80's in veg with RH between 50-60% throughout the grow. Will be training with LST mostly using Atlas Plant Trainer in 2x4x7 Budbox tents. These are my first beans from Terp Fiend so I'm excited to see where this grow takes me.
I put the root plugs into their tiny pots now that the roots are poppin out. Tried to do my first myco inoculation and we'll see how that goes. They'll go into 1g pots next with a 50/50 mix of SoHum and promix, then to 3g during veg training, then 7g cloth pots for flower.
I potted the SKUD seedlings up to 1 gallons today and got a look at their roots. Roots look healthy and were not circling so it looks like I timed the transplant pretty well. They looked a little "fuzzier" than previous grows and I'm hoping that is due to the myco inoculation but I will defer to the expertise of others on that note since I'm still pretty novice. I mixed the SoHum living soil 50:50 with Promix HP as the roots are still young and I didn't want to hit them with too much fast-acting amendments from the living soil. I watered in the roots around the edges and set them back under the lights at around 400 PPFD. As their above-soil structure matures I will raise the PPFD levels all the way up to around 900 in 100 or so bump increments.
Other notes: I've made some exciting additions to my mature veg and flower 2x4's that will be sure to make this an interesting grow. I've added a Hortilux 315 LEC to each tent to replace the center LED light, upgraded the circulation a bit, and will be getting in 8g cloth pots from Honor the Plant (located right here in Denver) for finishers in flower. I'll also be trying out some ferments from Well Grown Seeds in mature veg and flower for both foliar and root drench applications. I'm excited to see the results on these upgrades as I think I'll get really interesting trait expressions from the mixed spectrum and better water retention in the living soil with the new finisher pots. Hey guys, sorry I've been on a dry spell with the pics. Been going through some shit in my personal life lately. Anyways, the SKUD plants got their first top while they are in their 1g pots still. I left the third and fourth nodes and cut everything else. One plant lost a branch (doh!). I've got a lot going on in my two veg tents so sorry about the cluttered pics. The five in the plastic pots are the SKUD plants. The two in the honor the plant bags with the rice hull top dressing and Terp Fiend's Magic Pineapple Gelato and Pineapple Mimosa. The SKUD plants will go into honor bags on the next pot up. Those autoflowers are from Mephisto and were my first run (strain is strawberry nuggets). As soon as I harvest the autos in a week or two the SKUD plants will pot up to 3g pots and eventually finish in 8g pots. I will put on in a SoHum 8g and one in an M3 8g. There's too much genetic variance for a true comparison but I wanna run some side-by-sides with the stuff once I find a mom I really want to keep. Will take cuts of whichever two get picked for the flower tent in case they are keepers. I'm expecting an indica-dominant smoke profile on these ones so will consume at night after work.
