PTGC Toppers: MK Ultra and Sour Bubba in Michigan Mix
Greetings y'all. This is my 4th grow! 3x3x6 tent with marz hydro tsw2000. I have 4 plants in 7 gallon containers of Michigan Made Mix. MK Ultrabubble by T.H. Seeds and Sour Bubba by Katsu Seeds. Looking forward to both of them.
Here's my setup and little control panel for my environment.
Transplant day! Could have gone a few days earlier. I noticed drooping and a few yellow spots and they were ready for new homes after 14 days.
Now everyone is happy and healthy in their new homes. The makers of Michigan Mix say to go directly from the solo cup to the final container. Because of the way some of the phosphorous breaks down over time. This my second grow in the medium and the previous one was a breeze so I'm sticking with it. Cheers!
Greetings fellow growers! Growth is accelerating after the transplant into 7 gallons of Michigan Made Mix and all is well and very healthy.
I broke on of my main rules and brought outside plants (my summer autos) in to dry and what do you know, I have spider mites for the first time in 4 grows. Not to worry. I noticed it very early and I am treating with Dr. Zymes. Should be easy to keep knocked down but I'll have to do preventative sprays for the foreseeable future.
Anyway, topping was a breeze as usual. Following Dr. Coco recommendation of growing to 6 nodes then topping sat the 4th node.
So topped today, given a nice drink of rain water (ground water I pH to 6.5 but I just leave rain water as is) and they should be set for a few days. Sit back and watch them explode. Have a great Sunday!
Post Topping Pics:
I hope your gardens are all looking great!
Greetings growers! Things have been sailing right along here. It's been 7 days since I topped and things are looking great. Really just did a little LST and watered once. I have been keeping my RH in range with humidifiers and an Inkbird controller and I feel like that's helping get really fast veg growth.
Anyway, I have been away for a few days camping so tonight they'll get a big drink and I'll start training down the new growth more...
Mid week update... I started flattening the canopy down. I use Romex Residential wiring. It's the perfect weight for plant training... Here's my 24 hour progress pic... cheers!
If I have any issue to report, it's that the plants are growing too fast! I want to flip these with everyone else on OCT 1st but normally I would not let them go that long. I suppose it will give me more time to train as this is a Training Challenge. (-:
Plants have been getting ground water pH to 6.5 every two or three days and Recharge once just for good measure and to keep the microbes super happy...
Here's a couple pics of the garden from this morning:
Regarding training... I use Romex wire to hold down the growth. I keep it all low and flat by making candy cane shaped chunks of wire and pinning the growth right to the soil. Then, when the growth is long enough, I use "S" shaped pieces and binder clips and hold the growth right to the edge of the fabric pot.
Later today I'll go through and move the wires around and remove a selection of big fan leaves. Things are getting really crowded. I am all about #leavetheleaves but still, some thinning is in order.
Happy Sunday and happy growing everyone!
...but aside from that things are goin well. However, apparently the makers of Michigan Made Mix had a bad batch of peat come through and a lot of growers are having issues. I had some minor problems but given what I was seeing, adjusted my pH down a bit and watered less and I think I have things back on track. That's one feather in the cap for coco and GH nutes. You always know what you are going to get, 100%. My coco grow was perfect but I still like soil and microbes.
Anyway, training is going well. I have things pretty wide and flat with one topping and sections of copper wire poked into the soil and also held down with binder clips... I do a little bit each day.
Cheers and happy growing everyone.
GReetings everyone. Not a ton to report. Just watering every few days and doing a little pruning and training here and there. I accept that I'm not going to win any training awards on this grow. Plus I flipped early so I'm already on day 18 of flowering.
Did some supercropping and more LST today because a few colas shot up past the canopy. Happy Growing everyone.
Just continuing to give them water every few days and Recharge every once and a while if I feel like it. Hope everyone else's house smells as bad as mine! (-:
