The ladies are looking great and I'm pleased with their progress so far. One of the plants is slightly smaller than the other, but I should hopefully be able to even that out once I place a trellis net. Yesterday I cleaned up the lower growth, removing any under developed growth tips to once again help clear congestion within the middle of the plant and to proactively remove bud sites that would be result in larfy buds.

The solo cup bubba kush plant is looking great putting out some beautifully dark green leaves and looks really healthy; my mini fertigation system continues to work great. The plant continues to follow the same nutrient recipe and feed schedule as the two main plants. I don't actually keep up with the EC of the solo cup because every fertigation goes for 25 seconds and essentially flushes the entire container anyway. Until I notice any deficiencies or issues I'll be keeping it pretty simple.

Everyone part of the challenge is planning on flipping this thursday, October 1st, however due to falling behind a week at the beginning due to burning my original 'it's fire' seeds, I will be shooting for a flip day sometime next week. The ladies are pushing some pre-flowers and showing sex, so they are definitely ready for the next phase. I will be topping the ladies and giving one last trim up this coming weekend before sending them into flower next week  Looking forward to getting it started!

7 full weeks in veg and these girls have developed a lot of tops. I'm super excited about this larger plant, which is growing with some vigor and becoming a bushy giant all around - I can't wait to see what she produces! The smaller plant is definitely lagging behind by about 4 inches, but she still appears to be healthy and loving life. I'm not sure if the slow growth is more due to her genetics or perhaps some root damage during transplant as the rootballs were definitely not as well developed as I think they should have been.

Nonetheless I will be flipping to flower this week. I gave them one last trim up today and decided not to top one last time as it seems like there are already so many main cola sites and will surely be more as I start bending branches throughout the stretch. I will be stringing up a trellis net here in the next few days and my goal is to bend down the larger plant to try and even out the canopy. The recommended hanging height for the Migro Aray is only 6", meaning the shorter plant is 10" away.

Soon I'll be putting the solo cup into a little attachment I made that will allow me to suspend the cup higher up to maintain preferable distance to the light. I'm so surprised how well this plant has been doing. I've pretty much neglected it since it was large enough to handle my makeshift autofertigation system, save for a few small trimmings. Bubba Kush is looking really happy and throwing some beautifully dark green leaves, I'd be stoked if this pheno has some of the classic black color that bubba kush is known for.

I just mixed a final 5 gallons of late veg nutes. I plan to flip to flower once those run out as I refill the res with transition nutes. I'll update once I set up my trellis and the ladies are ready for flip. Stay tuned.

Moved the tent around just a bit to help maximize the space, installed the trellis, and put the solo cup plant into the homemade cup holder to keep the solo cup even with the rest of the canopy as it goes. I simply used one of the gorilla grow tent attachment heads and fixed it to the end of a 1/2” pvc pipe and then used a 3 way splitter to create the holder. I made a second one to act as a drain cup. Tomorrow I’ll drill a hole in the bottom of the cup and run some tubing from the cup to the drain bucket to be pumped out with the rest of the run off.

I was able to bring the canopy down within 2”. As the plant stretches I’ll be installing a second level that I can use as support and further bend. Couple more days till flip.

Humidity: 65-70rH

Light heighth/strength: 7" for left/taller plant, 9" for shorter plant and solocup/100% strength (6AM/6PM)

It's officially flip time! Glad to be on track with the rest of the CFC community, but I'm also glad I took those extra few days to let the ladies settle into their new positions with the trellis. Today I cleaned out the res and added in the "flip to pistils" nute recipe as per Dr. Coco's recommendations. Using this nutrient mix I fed approximately 2 gallons to each main plant to help clear out any built up salts as I head into flower and ensure an even distrubution of the current nutes throughout the coco.

The larger plant is now 11" tall (after bending into the trellis) with 7" to the light, and the smaller plant is 9" tall (no bending) with 9" to the light. The canopy is not perfectly even, but I'm hoping that after each plant has had some time to stretch I'll have an easier time evening out the canopy. Excited to see what height the canopy ends at.

I am really eager to see how massive these plants get, they are surely much larger than my previous grow was when I flipped into flower, and with the new light and improved growing practices, I'm hopeful that the final product will show for it in both quality and yield. A few weeks into stretch I'll be installing another level onto the trellis to help fill out the rest of the space in the tent. Thanks to some helpful info from @wizardofOG , who grew this strain before, I'm expecting a healthy stretch and some massive buds with about a 10 weeks flower from the appearance of pistils, however I will be counting from flip days.

My main concern with the stretch is managing the light height. I think the one downside to the Migro Aray fixture is that it recommends a 6" canopy height, which is so close, and many growers will know that plants can have epic grow rates during the stretch, leading me to wonder if I will have to adjust the light height not only daily but perhaps throughout the day during the peak of the stretch. The other concern is that I want these girls to stretch for at least a few weeks before I install my next trellis and even out the canopy, which could allow for some pretty drastic differences in how close each plant is to the light as these two phenos have shown some pretty significant differences in how tall they want to grow on their own. I'll just have to see how it goes.

My solo cup holder is doing pretty well and draining flawlessly as I had hoped, however it's showing some signs of stress by drooping. Part of me is curious if this stress is due to all of the moving around it underwent as I got it into position, but I'm more suspicious of the light intensity. For the entire grow, the plant has been sitting on the drain away tray with the other plants and sat much further from the light than the recommended 6" and certainly receiving a much lower PAR than the rest of the canopy. My hypothesis is that in moving the plant up into its holder and making it even with the rest of the canopy, its now stressed by the more intense PAR that it's receiving at 8". Can anyone back this up, or should I consider something else? I also made sure to flush the solo cup with the other plants, obviously with much less feed.

Not too much to report, the plants are showing some pistils but have yet to explode. Staying on the flip nutes for another few days. I’m definitely starting to wonder if I vegged too long, these things are gonna be monsters no doubt. Can’t wait to harvest this bounty.

Heading into week three of flower, these girls are looking very healthy and happy. Day time rH was creeping up higher, as was the night rH, so today these girls all received one hell of a pruning. I trimmed a ton of lower growth and whimpy side shoots that were clogging up the middle canopy and drastically reducing airflow. I tried not to be too aggressive with how high up I went, but I made sure to thin out many of the leaves. These beastly bushes are finally starting to look like cannabis plants! Immediately following the trim, the rH dropped down to 60 and has been pretty steady, which I'm very happy with. I also opened another small duct port for some extra ventilation. The plants are now on the "early bloom" nutrient recipe as of Thursday (Flower Day 10) and will be on that for the next two weeks.

I had to make a few adjustments with the party cup as it was not draining efficiently and couldn't keep up with the 25 second fertigations the other plants are receiving, so I poked a few more holes and it worked out well, no more back up of water. I also included a picture of my roots to show that they are staying pruned.

I'm really happy with the structure of these plants. Their stalks are super strong and I doubt they will need a ton of support as it progresses through flower. Oh yeah, I also removed the trellis so that I could restart it. I felt that I prematurely integrated it into the canopy and was going to make pruning an absolute nightmare. These plants are officially starting their stretch, so I'll be letting them grow over the next week before I incorporate the trellis, mostly as a support. these plants are already taking up a ton of space, so I don't think I'll need to do too much bending, other than to keep the even canopy. I'm ready for this explosive stretch!

Plants are in the early days of their stretch, bud sites are much more prominent. The larger plant on the left of my tent is significantly healthier, larger, and more vigorous. The smaller blue dream pheno is a few days behind and has been putting out much less turgid, vigorous, or sturdy leaves. I'm sure she'll still yield some fair buds, but the larger plant definitely has much greater potential, I'm looking forward to see where it ends up. I haven't appreciated any significant smells from either of the two blue dream phenos.

The bubba kush solo cup plant is by far the one I'm most excited about now. This little plant is growing with vigor and is putting out some dank skunk smell when I get up close and is putting out some dark pistils along with the regular whites. I'm really pumped about where this thing is going to end up come harvest time. Seedsman says this will be ready  at around 55-60 days, so assuming that's even close to accurate, this cup will finish up a bit sooner than the blue dream, however I will be taking all of these plants down together.

I added an AC infinity 6" intake fan as my rH is ranging from 65-75 (day to night). When the tent is open and I'm working in the garden, rH drops down to low 60's and sometimes high 50s, which is where I'd prefer the tent, but even with an intake fan rH remains high. I will note that my inkbird rH sensor is sitting 1" above the canopy and is certainly reading higher than the rest of the tent, which I don't have monitored. Betweek the intake fan, 6" fan at the bottom of the tent, and the oscillator, this tent has great airflow and blue dream is known for its anti mold properties, so as long as the temps stay cool and the air is flowing, I won't be too worried about mold.

The girls are finishing up week 4 of flower and most of them are doing really well. Night time humidity is still higher than I'd like, but the tent has solid airflow so I'm not too concerned. The plants continue to stretch, but I'm shocked on how little they seemed to have really stretched so far. I thought I'd expect blue dream to be a lot taller, but I suppose there is still time to go.

Thanks to some advice from the CFC fam, I removed the middle connector bar from my Migro Aray and am now hanging the two fixtures at separate heights to accomodate for the bushier and less vigorous growth of this other pheno. Now the canopy as a whole is closer to the 6" recommended height. Migro demonstrated that in a 2x2 tent, the 2 bar aray could rotate within that space without any change to the PPFD, but I emailed them to make sure that is the case for a 4x2 space with 2 fixtures, hopefully it will be, because this smaller pheno has been a pain to make happy for most of this grow.

***Migro did confirm that this set up should still provide me with great coverage, so I'll be sticking with it. Love the versatility of this light!!!

The larger pheno on the left is thriving. She continues to look happy, grow taller, and produce some good very sturdy stalks. I don't think I need to do much at this point but sit back and watch her develop. The solo cup is also doing well. The cup is dense with root mass and the leaves are pushing some purple colors as well as some dark pistils. Her skunky aroma is every more apparent with each day. I am most excited about this plant than any of the other ones if I'm being honest and wishing I would have planted it in a 3 gallon with a longer veg, and done another strain for the solo cup.

As for the pheno on the right, she's high maintenance and even that doesn't seem to be enough. After consulting with some different growers, I made up a separate feed for this plant removing the grow form the flora trio, as the leaves look very dark and glossy with a slight claw suggesting N tox. I also added in some liquinox iron and zinc at 2mL/gal. GrowCast contributer Mary-Beth Sanchez looked at my pictures and hypothesized that the plants twisted and weaker structure was due to an iron deficiency and could be remedied with the liquinox formula. She did not give me any specific amount to add, but so I started with 2mLs and I will go from there. I hand water about a quarter gallon/feed 3-4 times per day and I'm watching her progression.

Yesterday I took the plants out and did one last round of pruning to remove any significantly under developed side shoots and bud sites to reduce the amount of larf I will receive at the end and hopefully allow the plant to focus on more prominent sites. I took off more growth with the weaker pheno as I think it's going to have a difficult enough of a time with developing its main colas, let alone more in the undercanopy. This pruning did help reduce the night time rH, which I was glad to see. I think there has been some slight improvement to the structure of the pheno. Its leaves look like they are more stiff and postured to the light, rather than drooping as heavily. Now that I've removed grow from the mix, hopefully the leaf color will improve and she'll be happier than she's been. The feed has also been moved to the  "Mid Bloom" nute schedule, which it will receive until roughly day 45 of flower.

Today I also adjusted the fertigation schedule to 6, 10 second fertigations per day. I think this will improve the growth and development of the solo cup. As the plants grow through the trellis, I'm not sure how much bending that I will end up doing at this point if the lights can hang at their individual heights without diminishing PPFD, as plants fill their respective sides of the tent leaving gaps only in the middle where the solo cup doesn't reach. I also don't think that many of these stalks with need much support in the later phases with how sturdy they are.

If anyone has any other thoughts regarding the difficult pheno, I'm all ears.

Kicking off week 6 of flower. The ladies are doing really well, even the one that was struggling for most of the grow. Many of her leaves are now praying and clearing up. Now that I've switched to a 10 second fertigation schedule that produces minimal runoff, I try to do one small hand watering per day or every other day to make sure that the salts don't build up.

I decided to remove the trellis all together. The stalks on these beasts are not going to need support and I removed most of the side growth that might have eventually required it. I also removed it because of how remarkably little these plants stretched. The larger plant is only 20 inches tall, so they didn't even double in size. Either way, the buds look like they will be chunky and have filled most of the canopy space.

Now that we're into the boring mid bloom phase of flower there isn't much else to update. My solo cup continues to be my favorite plant in the garden, with it's pretty colors becoming more evident with each passing day. I'm probably going to have to find a way to dry that little plant discretely because there is no way it's going to last as long as the blue dream plants will in terms of harvest dates. Other than that, I'll continue to post picture updates and post their progress.

6 full weeks of flower, only 3 or 4 more to go for this blue dream and possibly only a week or two with this solo cup, which is ripening much faster than its estimated 60-65 days. About a week ago I started noticing some small peas developing around a few of the buds in my plant. As the days progressed I became more and more sure that my plant had hermied and started pushing seeds. To be fair, this is almost certainly due to my own laziness. I bought a gorilla grow tent thinking it wouldn't have light leak issues and I didn't bother to check. Worse than that, my tent is in my office space so I turn the lights on pretty frequently after the plants lights out period. While this comes as an obvious disappointment, I'll be finishing this grow out. Many of the buds appear uneffected, and this is my own personal smoke, so i'm not too worried about who else is going to have to deal with the seeds. Definitely a lesson learned for next time. I'll be outfitting the outside of my tent with some black cloth to help ensure no light leaks penetrate when my lights are on.

This smaller blue dream plant, while its been giving me hell all grow, has really been frosting up in its undergrowth, I'm really impressed actually. The bud structure is still pretty lame, but the sugar coating is pretty remarkable. I might turn a lot of this plant into bubble hash depending on how the final buds look.

The larger healthier plant is also frosting up nicely underneath. Her buds are big, chunky, dense, and continuing to grow. By the time this is done, each branch will look like one giant bud from the lowest growth to the top, I'm excited. While the plants aroma doesn't smack you in the face upon opening the tent, a quick brushing of their leaves leaves your fingers coated in a sticky sour skittle smelling goo that I just can't wait to smoke - seeds or not.

My solo cup bubba kush plant is performing beautifully. She continues to thrive and gives me absolutely zero issues. I don't see any seeds, but her bud structure, especially with the lower growth, is super calyxy. Her main colas continue to show their beautiful purple colors and trichome production is impressive. Under a microscope her trichomes are obviously clouding up and in many spots amber trichomes are developing. Seedsman says this is a 60-65 day plant and while the breeder times are notoriously off, 3 weeks seems pretty early for the trichomes to be as cloudy as they are, but maybe they will age more slowly over the next few weeks. Nonetheless, I'll monitor their color change closely and chop when I need to. I just received a package shipped in a nicely sized cardboard box that I think will work perfectly to use as a small makeshift drying space. I'll cut a hole to attach my main tents intake fan to, which should pull any dank smelling goodness into the tent and out through the exhaust fan and carbon filter, keeping my space smelling clean. I'll give pictures once I assemble it.

Today I did one last res cleaning and tossed in my first phase of late bloom nutes, which I'll run until Monday (day 49) before changing to the second late bloom phase. I ended up increasing my fertigation events to 15 seconds each as 10 seconds was barely producing run-off, if any at all. On top of the 15 second fertigation events, I have been pretty good about giving each plant a half gallon hand watering once every 2 or 3 days and getting some proper runoff. The plants show some tip burn so I have lowered their PPMs and tried to increase their runoff. The Migro aray continues to perform beautifully, can't say enough good things about it. Its versatile, cool, and efficient. Doc says that the PPFD readings from the recommended 6" to 10" show a minor drop in density, which is great to know. Next run I will set the light height at 10" and allow the plants to grow up to 6" away and then raise the lights again. This should be especially helpful during the stretch and hopefully encourage a little more vertical growth than what I experienced this run.

Pictures ID respective to order they appear on the post - Blue dream trichomes, blue dream trichomes, bubba kush trichomes, bubba kush trichomes, Blue dream stalk, blue dream cola, bubba kush colas (next few), whole tent.

Inflow PPM (500 scale): 640

Outflow PPM (500 scale): 650

Daily fertigation events: 6 events/15 seconds (6:00AM/9:00AM/12:00PM/3:00PM/6:00PM/9:00PM) - 1 or 2 lengthy hand fertigations per week.

Inflow pH: 5.9-6.3

Temperature: 70-75F (day) / 60-65F (night)

Humidity: 55-60 rH (day) / 60-65rH (night)

Light heighth/strength: 6"/100%

Week 7 of flower completed. As the garden heads into week 8 I feel like I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. All the plants pistils are changing over to a nice orange, the buds are thickening up and the trichomes are maturing nicely. As of today the plants are on their final week of late bloom nutes before I enter the ripen phase sometime next week.

Starting with my larger blue dream pheno #1 on the left of the tent - she has the largest buds in the tent and they feel super dense. While she has always been the healthiest pheno, her buds are the least frosty of all the plants, but that's not to say she isn't holding her own. The trichomes on this plant are mostly cloudy on the top colas without much evidence of amber trichomes. The lower growth still has a higher ratio of clear to cloudy trichomes, reminding me that I'm not done yet, as much as I want to be. This pheno is showing some nutrient burn in the tips of her leaves as I push her hard during this last week of bloom. She is also showing a few brown spots on the leaves, but I'm not too worried seeing that there is only three weeks left in flower. Run off on this plant is a little higher at 670 ppm so I'm making sure to fertigate with a healthy hand watering a little more frequently.

The smaller blue dream pheno #2 on the left tent is really redeeming itself. This entire grow it's given me a hard time, showed some nitrogen toxicity, iron deficiencies, and has just been overall unhappy, but as she finishes her last few weeks of flower the buds are putting out some serious frost that excites me. Her buds are by no means large, but she makes up for her size with frost. Many of her nutrient issues have improved and rshe really does seem to be happier and much stronger. This plants runoff is sitting comfy at 610. The trichomes on this plant are mostly cloudy with some early transluscent amber developing on the main colas. Underneath the trichomes are further along than the sister pheno. These have a higher ration of clear to cloudy but are by no means close. I'm confident that I'll be on time for harvest around day 70, which is a relief.

Lastly, the solo cup bubba kush continues to kill it and is finishing up. She is the healthiest plant in the tent. Not a single sign of deficiency or burn, despite being contained in a small cup. Both her main colas and lower buds are showing some early transcluscent amber and many of the trichomes on the lower growth are cloudy signally to me that she is coming up on an early harvest. Her pistils are also all changed over to a nice orange color and has maybe one or two white pistils remaining. I'll be monitoring the trichome development carefully over the next few days and beginning a few day flush and final drought on the last day or two before I chop it to dry. I might even make a gallon batch of ripen feed to hand water separately for the cup as it is currently on the late bloom nutes with the other plants.

I am going to post pictures of the plants in separate posts to keep them separate and easier to identify. Each post will contain pictures of each separate plant with trichome shots from both main colas and undergrowth.

**Special Solo Cup Update** @Dr-Coco @OCGrower76

I'm doing a more thorough update on my bubba kush being grown for the solo cup challenge to maintain good standing for "best solo cup". As I've said before and will continue to say, this little plant is my favorite in the garden. If you've stayed with me from the beginning, you might know that not even 10 days from germination I dropped my empty humidifier right on top of it as I was removing it from the tent to refill. It bent the stalk right over and the seeling that had barely started showing her first serated leaves had experienced more stress than any plant ever should; I wasn't sure how she'd recover or even if she recovered, but wow did she recover.

One of my favorite things about this solo cup grow, and what speaks to the strength or versatility of this strain/pheno, is the fact that I never gave it any special attention or accomodations. I fed this on the exact same nutes as what I fed my larger plants that were further along in their growth cycle, I never checked the run off EC, and I almost never did any pruning.

Early on I hand watered the plant until I was ready to attach my automatic fertigation system that I made much similarly to the hydro halo system. I purchased a small tube, I think 1/8" in diameter, and the necessary attachments to go from a 1/2" tube connected to my pump all the way down to this tiny tubing. I crimped the end of the tube and punctured 4 holes along its axis and then put that around the rim of the cup, fixing it with some clips. This hand made halo system worked out better than expected once I got it dialed it. Initially she received 4x fertigations daily on the same schedule as my main plants, and then eventually I moved the entire tent onto a 6x daily fertigation at 15 seconds a piece. Part way through the grow I had to puncture more holes throughout the cup as the bottom holes did not allow for adequate and efficient drainage.

Speaking of drainage, to catch the run off in a clean and practical way I decided to simply place another solu cup beneath it, place a drain hole at the bottom, which connected to a tube that fed into my run off bucket. With plenty of glue to seal the gasket I'd say it has worked flawlessly. The secondary solo cup was never used to hold extra roots that were protruding from the primary cup as those were pruned either by the air or by myself as needed.

To keep the cups even with the canopy I utilized some PVC piping I had and some pole attachments that I had extra from my gorilla grow tent. I used the pole clips to hold the PVC pipes perpendicular to the verticle poles in the tent, and then used a T connector and some 1/2 piping to create a cup holder. I made two of these, one for each cup. Once the plants were in flower and needed the best lighting, I was able to place the cups into their holders and lift them up to the same height of the main plants for an even canopy and light distribution.

I topped her twice and removed minimal lower growth, as I figured that she wouldn't be supporting too many budsites anyway, and flipped her into flower with the rest of the tent after 34 days of veg. While this plant only streched a few inches, if you measure its stretch in terms of the plants size at the flip to when it finished stretching, this plant grew the most and tripled in size. Early on her terpenes were super skunky and were dominant to the larger blue dream phenos in the tent. Her buds are super frosty and her stalks need zero support, until today that is when I broke a stalk pulling it out of the tent to take pictures for this update! No worries, she's almost ready for harvest and taped up.

The post previous to this shows some good trichome shots of the plant. She is currently on the last late bloom nutes as the rest of the tent and is definitely maturing faster, as expected due to the "breeder flowering time". I will be checking her trichome development closely over this next week. I will probably begin a flush later this week or this weekend and skip the ripen nutes.

I don't know that this plant will win best solo cup, this community has shown some amazing innovation and creativity, and has grown some INSANE plants out of such a small cup, shout out to @Crispywannabe and her solo cup plant with the makeshift air pot. If I ever do something like this again, I think I'd veg it even longer. Early on I was concerned about what kind of nutrient difficulties I would encounter if the plant got too big, but this bubba kush never once showed any type of nutrient deficiency and I gave it the least attention. I'm truly impressed with this strain and I'm even more excited to smoke it. Now to try and finish designing my makeshift drying space for the cup while the rest of the plants finish growing.

Good luck to everyone with the ends of their grows and cheers to a good harvest!
