Super excited to partake in this NYGC!
I am growing organically this grow, I had the liberty of mixing my soil last night now it's brewing while my seeds are soaking.
Looking forward to watching everyone's journey this challenge!
After 1 fail attempt at 2 of these seeds....I dropped a second set and finally! It was able to successfully germ and sprout.
Thanks to Berk for advising me to do away with the paper towel method and drop seeds into rapid rooters.
I also scratched the surface of the seeds with sand paper and drop them into water, allowing them to soak for about 8 hours before I transferred to rapid rooter. I'm happy.
My soil.....something is causing them to die.....rapidly......this batch may not make it and I might have to do another set of seeds.
No worries....a major set back to an even major operation. Keep you posted!
But death is in my plants near future lol.
Just dropped Gelato #33.....no point in waiting until my VF dies 😡
I'm mad because really was looking forward to this strain. Gave some seeds away and have to order more. Ugh, I know it's my soil that caused this problem, my plants were healthy otherwise. I'm heading to grab more soil for seedings. I think I mixed it tooooo hot or something but it's linked to my soil.
Vanilla frosting did not survive. It was a constant and progressive death. I was able to save Garlice Budder, I think. Only time will tell. I took the seedling out of my mixed soil and put it in store bought soil, Happy Frog. I'm not familiar with the soil completely, so I hope it isn't too hot for my soil. I see life in my Garlic Budder, if it survives......I plan to also put Gelato in it too. By the time I'm ready for my transplant, I'm hoping it mature enough to handle my mixed soil.
I'm on edge about everything now! Sucks. I wish I just knew the issue. I wonder if it was maybe the fungi in my soil caused it. A mature plant probably could handle it but not seedlings. Idk. I might NOT transplant all the seedlings into my mixture. Might do one and see how that goes.....and transplant the rest into happy frog. Test my observations.
Garlic Budder above....its trying to stay alive. All I can think of right now....is watch and pray 😰
My Garlic Budder transfer to the happy frog worked! It wasn't too late to save the little guy. Below is a pic of its current condition. I did about 2 small watering using some recharge.
It's growing a lot better now 😊
I wish I could have saved my Vanilla frosting like I saved the GB but won't dwell on it. I have one more seed of VF and I'm going to get that one right! Just until I order more seeds and do a full tent of the VF. I think I'm quite obsessed with the strain, and I thinks it's because I lost 9 seeds. Lol
Here is my Gelato, 2 are doing quite well but one is taking off really slow....extremely slow. Below is the 2 that are growing good
Below is the runt thats taking forever, I wonder if it just the genetics in this seed that's making it grow sooooooooo slow 🤔 im not treating any of them any different.
It looks alive right? Maybe I just need to give it a little more TLC.
I transplanted my plants from solo cups to 1 gallon pots! (Not final home)
ALSO!
I put one transplant into my mixed soil (Not happy frog) to see if it survives. If it does survive, then I can probably conclude that my seedlings died from the soil being too hot or couldn't handle the fungi present in the soil at their immature age.
If it does not survive.....then...I can conclude that the soil is cursed. No really it has to be because wth.
Also, my little runt in the previous post is still growing. The root development is slow and not much as of now, but I figure when it passes a certain stage, it will start to probably even out and grow quicker.
Below is the runt. Not as big but still living! @Rusty look!
Below is just a pic of root development for one of my more developed Geleto plants.
Happy growing!
Little something going on in one of my pots (Gelato). Not sure why that leaf is like that but it seems to be doing great otherwise.
Going to pot up in a few days. It's time to let these flower spread! Lol
