I typically start directly in soil. But last time I ruined a few because I get so curious. So this time I decided to start in paper towel so I can see what’s happening without hurting the tap root.
I noticed by the end of the day on day 1, one of the seeds has already cracked! AM day 2 and I can see the tap root emerging from this seed. The other two appear to be softening and I’m hoping will have a root peeping out soon.
Seeds in soil, trying a new high idea. Communal nursery but each with their own jiffy pot, a little Orca on each jiffy pot and lucky dog seedling mix with clay pellets to open the soil more. And now this little tray sits in a two gal ziplock that I blew up before closing. Will hang out on a seedling mat until they are ready to go into pots.
Cleaned and prepped the tent. Starting to feel like a grow again. This time I’m going to take advantage of the indoor grow space and start growing orchids more seriously again. I’d also like to try to get a pepper and tomato going, maybe some salad greens.
Ok well I can’t help it fiddle, I found the seeds upside down. I don’t really know why because I thought I put them in the right way… anyway they are the right side up and look healthy. One popped out of the soil by the end of the day!
Can’t win them all, third seed started to pop up but fizzled and didn’t continue. So I threw another in, it’s germinated and about to join the party. I have had some heat/humidity/air movement balance issues. Picked up the AC Infinity controller and fan. Will be adding controllable plugs so I can attach humidifier also. More details to come.
Re-organized the tent. I absolutely love this ac infinity controller. I can’t wait for all the lights to be on so I don’t need the heater. Growth really took off once I added the heat and got the grow temps up to mid 70s and now 80s. First grow in which I’m following VPD, this is the way.
Because I can’t leave well enough alone… I’m throwing down a couple seeds I don’t know much about and just want to check out. One seed of Hawaiian Grapefruit from HiBred seed, and one called Royal Bananas which all I know about is it’s Purple Punch(Larry OG(OG kush x SFVOG?) x GDP) x Honey Bananas (Strawberry Banana(SB Bubblegum (SBxBubblegum) x Crockets Banana Kush(OG Kush x Skunk Haze)) x Honey Boo Boo(Bubba Kush x Capital Crypt OG (OG Kush x Krypton)))
Potted up today. 3gal rain science grow bags. Using Coast of Maine platinum growers mix. Third grow using it going to use more of their organic amendments this go around.
