SAFC Seedsman: 420 Auto Grow Challenge
I am going to start 3 Auto seeds in a Rapid Rooter seed starter. I have a warming mat with a thermostat set at 80F I will use Water PHed to 5.8 I will transplant to drink cups using Royal Coco and then 5gal cloth pots.
I am using a Mars Hydro TS 1000 but will be buying a new light as it only provides enough light for about 1/4 of the 3.5’x3.5’ area I haven’t decided what light to get yet I am wanting a HLG 550 V2 ECO and use the TS 1000 as a Mother light. I might just get a TSL 2000 for now due to cost??
I have 3 free Strawberry shortcake autos from Seedsman I will be growing
I placed 3 Strawberry Cheesecake seeds with the pointy end down in the rapid rooter at 9am today. I am learning about seeds I have only dealt with clones before they are so much faster. I have a thermostatically controlled heat mat set at 80F these seeds are fem autos Freebes from Seedsman
I need more light so if you don’t have much money what lights would you get I was reading Dr Cocos Silver Haze strain review and he used the VS 450s they are low priced I don’t think they are as efficient as the Mars but they put out light and I can get enough for my veg room for 200 what do you all think?
2 of the 3 seeds survived and transplanted into Dixie cups my 1 qt fabric pots arrived the next day but I’m not sure if I should transplant again as they should be ready to go into 1 gal fabric pots in a couple of weeks or less, they are doing well I increased the EC to 1200 ec 6.1 ph fertigation 2x a day they are growing in Royal Gold coco I moved them into the veg tent with a frost cloth cover yesterday and removed the cloth today Temperatures 75-80* RH 50-55% the clock is ticking the breaker has tripped twice so far as I have everything on a extension cord from a outside plug and 15 amp breaker it doesn’t like the load when the window A/C is running it’s only 1400 watts total and I should be able to get 1800 watts but breakers aren’t all that accurate. I did add a TSL 2000 to room and with the TS 1000 I have 450 watts of led lights
The transplantation went well I don’t know if it’s because of using Fertilizer to wet the coco before transplant or evaporation but the strawberry cheesecake that I transplanted runoff was very high like 2500 a 1200 from what I am putting in to what is coming out so I kept ferigating until I got it down to below 400 inlet to runoff it took 3x on the largest to 4x on the other but I got it down I hope that the tank I ordered gets here soon so I can increase fertgation rates other than that there was no shock from transplanting now is where they take off growing over night I hope
I repotted SS1 (helmet head)into a gallon pot, no shock fast growth
SS2 is growing fast this is the veg part of the Auto growth cycle and the bigger she gets now the bigger the yield. She needs to start LST but I want to move her to a 3 gal pot but the roots aren’t showing at the bottom outside of the fabric. I have found that if you have roots showing it holds together better during transplant and minimizes the shock The Dewpoint has gone up to 63° a lot of water in the air so I’m running up to 70% humidity I’m gonna have to seal up the grow shed and have the A/C Dehumidify the space. That’s all of the updates for now I am going to build 2 more self draining Saucers so I don’t have to keep taking them out of the box
I got the saucers built and yesterday I transplanted SS2 to a 3 gal pot which is the final pot she will grow in I am hauling RO water from Walmart 12gal 2x a week I am going to buy a RO filter on the next payday. SS2 is a auto and with coco a 3 gal pot should be large enough.
LST will start when she recovers from transplant
