There's no room at the Inn! A full tent that will become available right about when autos should be finishing. It's another year for outside autos. I have a large selection to choose from so I'll be running a bunch of different genetics. I like transplanting from solo cup to 5 gallon cloth pots, usually within the first couple of weeks. But we can try a few different things and see what pops.
Alright. I got some fresh stuff in the mail so there is no time like the present. Dropped an Amnesia Haze Auto and an Orion F1 Auto from Royal Queen Seeds. Into a glass of distilled water placed next to the cable box and hopefully in about 30 hours I'll have tails. So far this year everything has been germinated like this and I have had some of my best germination rates so far. When I see the tail I pop them into a Rapid Rooters and into the humid tent. Generally in the 75-80 F range and about the same for humidity. These will get tossed outside in 5 gal fabric pots when the DOTZ in the tent gets flipped in a couple weeks.
Some of these got a bit of a head start by a couple days. The Maple Bar was the last to sprout and they look a bit leggy. All should be ready ready for transplant at the end of the month.
Amnesia Haze was next to show. I put that one directly into a 5 gal bag of Ocean Forest outside. And then there was Orion. This one went into a root riot plug and into the tent with the others for a while. Still waiting on a photoperiod freebie of Critical to pop.
Critical popped this morning. Into root riot plug and into the tent. RQS seeds 3 for 3 on germination. What the heck. I'll soak another. JuicyO from PCG.
Amnesia Haze was Touch and go for a bit. I rolled away a chunk of soil and revealed a struggling seedling. 4 hours of sun later and it 's "Congratulations it's a girl". It should be anyway since it's a Fem seed.
All transplanted into 5 or 7 gal except for 1 Sour Citrus in 3 gal plastic. I broke out the best pots for these girls. Pffff! Ya right! There are still more days in April. Should I keep dropping seeds? Orion and Critical still to go.

OK. Everybody is started and transplanted to their final pot. Orion, Juicy-O and Critical moved to the great outdoors. They are joining the photo period partners in this outdoor grow. Autos on the table Photos on the ground. Critical is a photo and will fill the empty space on the ground. Dotz, Dawg Biscuits, Black Sorbet, Gelazzi, and Critical.
Took a chance and topped one of the Melon OG's. Could be close. I have never topped an autoflower before.
Pretty slow growth this week. The last few went directly into Ocean Forest and it may be a bit much. One of the Maple Bars is really distorted. Amnesia Haze is supposed to finish fast but at this rate I don't know. Orion and Juicy-O also pretty tiny for their age.
Another week and the sun and soil combo is moving things along, albeit slowly. I think autos benefit from the fast growth they get in coco but I have never had the gusto to try it. Soil and a drip system offer me the most schedule flexibility. It will be interesting to see if this years crop of autos gets foxtailed like the last two years. Here are the 4/20 seeds that were planted. Juicy -O went in slightly later. Orion is looking good. Something about that F1 vigor.
Sour Citrus is on a mission! Rolling right on through flower while everything languishes. I must say, I'm impressed. Not a 4/20 drop, but pretty close.
Low light all week. We even had a few spots of rain. Not a great deal of growth but a whole lot of hope. Some of the supporting players are starting to ease into flower. Perhaps these cold temps coaxed a little color out of the Melon OG. The 420 feature act is limping along. Orion is starting to settle in. Amnesia is a bit of a blind date. She doesn't have a photogenic side, but a sweet personality. I'm hoping she's an ugly duck success story. There's always hope.
What a difference a little sunshine makes. It's looking like spring. Things have sprung. Amnesia looking more chipper. Orion is showing pistils. A couple of other interesting garden observations. One of the Sour Citrus has significantly more branching while the other looks to be a single cola. In the case of Melon OG, the plant that I topped is growing like mad and the other has the single cola structure. Flowering is a bit delayed on the topped one but most everything else is in flower. In another month it will be time to start another set of autos for the late season grow.
