PTGC Misfit: Watermelon Gelato - Lit Farm
I got a little excited to get my Plant Training Grow started so I put clones in my flower room 2 days ago. It will be tough to not flip until 10/1 but that is my goal.
I am growing (8) plants this run using clones from @blacksheepfarmerz. They are unique as they use meristem cultures for the clones process which helps ensure a pristine specimen.
Well these plants have rooted well and they have started to grow. They had a bit of a slow start but are in now thriving.
The purple stems on this Watermelon Gelato is interesting. It isn't in streaks or reddish like some of my plants in the past but they are deep purple throughout. This room has a dedicated AC and the temps and humidity have been nice and stable. I am thinking that I will let these guys veg for another few weeks but we will see as I want the tent to be nice and full.
So I have been trying to FIM these plants to slow vertical growth as I want to veg for another 2 weeks. The room has been stable but in a perfect world the humidity would be higher. Here is a quick video update I put together. Enjoy.
Watermelon Gelato room is starting to fill out now. They ladies are fattening up and should be ready to flip in the next few days. I topped them several days ago and they bounced back nicely. I am currently feeding at around 1200 EC and a PH of 5.6. I just Fimmed the larger growth tips again today and will let everything recover before I flip.
I mixed a new reservoir yesterday so I will wait a few days and then start adding in the Power SI bloom nutrients. All in all this room is doing well and there are no major issues to speak of.
Enjoy the pictures... Lights will be going off soon. So they plants are starting to droop in anticipation.
Well it is finally here.... Flip Day.... And I think I waited too long 🤣.
The canopy is full and the ladies are tall. If they stretch double like expected then I will be supercropping like crazy.
I switched to bloom nutes today in the new reservoir. I stopped using the rooting nutes and the Silica but added in Power SI Bloom and Bud Bursts from Nutrafield Nutrients. I will be throwing in Resin XS and PK Heavy in a few weeks....
Right now my EC is at 1200 and the pH is 5.6.
We are 10 days into flip and these ladies are going crazy. The space has filled out completely and the plants are 6" fron the light.
I will be putting in bamboo stakes and doing some super cropping in the next few days once I think the stretch is starting to slow down.
Take a look at the video update that I made.
Height continues to be a challenge in this room. I have Supercropped and Fimmed..all I can do now is hope for the best.
The buds are forming but right now they are all white hairs... I am sure they will start filling in soon.
Well this tent is just a jungle.. bud sites everywhere and branches over branches over branches thanks to all of the super cropping... I think I will have to take out all of these plants at the same time.
The smell from this tent is really kicking in and it is starting to get a beautiful frost. All of the buds are still small but there are a ton of sites that will fatten up nicely over the next 2-3 weeks.
I have a feeling that this Watermelon Gelato from Lit Farms is going to be something special...
Here is a video that I uploaded to my YouTube channel.. please check it out!
Things are looking good in this room. The plants are super sticky and stinky. Some of the hairs are starting to turn orange and there are a ton of bud sites. The light is a bit too close to a.few.of the buds but they will be ok. This strain is suppose to be done in around 60 days so we will see how they look in another 4 weeks.
This tent seems to be finishing quicker than the others. The hairs are starting to turn orange and I would be surprised if these plants were done in the next 14 days. The frost and smell of these plants are amazing. The buds seems a bit small but I did supercrop the heck out of the plant. The final weight will be the real judge.
Out of all of the strains I am growing I think this Watermelon Gelato is the fastest finisher. I think I will pull in 3-4 days. I am feeding plain RO water for the rest of their life. The buds are small but the quality will be awesome and I think the overall yield will also be great.
