NYGC Potluck: Beanstalk (?)
Sorry for the delay with updates on this plant. She's doing well though! Getting pretty big. She got a top dress a few days ago, 4-4-4 and 2-8-4 dry amendments, bout 1.5 tblsp of each. Watered in with kelp, humics, and LABs. Otherwise watering 1-2L every couple days to keep the soil moist. Temps have been pretty hot 80-85F, 60%RH. Hoping to move them into another tent soon! Happy growing 🤙🌱
Beanstalk to the left.
Just realized I forgot to start counting flip days, which was Feb 14th. She is really coming along and looking like she'll outstretch my other plant. This one is definitely a sativa leaning plant as I thought.. the node spacing isn't very tight. Not sure how much more she's gonna stretch but I'll be looking at doing one final pruning in the next few days.
Temps are kinda high.. 86F/60RH. I now have space in my 2x4 so I think these plants will be moved soon.
She's been watered a couple times.. a litre or two each time. Other than that, haven't done much except pull the odd obstructive fan leaf.
On the left..
She's a lighter shade of green than the white widow and much more unruly! Maybe I'll try to take some clones, I'll decide in a couple days.. until then, happy growing y'all! 🌞
3 weeks from the flip and I think she's about done stretching.. I hope so anyway. She got pruned a few days ago, all shoots and bud sites on the lower half of the plant were taken off.
A litre or so of water every other day except today got almost 3L with 1ml/L whey/lactic acid bacteria serum (LABs), 4ml/L liquid kelp, and 8ml/L humic acids.
Moving into a different tent when the current harvest is done drying in a few days, although part of me wants to see if I can make it work in this tent, I'm not sure it would be the prudent thing to do.
Everything looks good I think. She's darkened up a little. Not sure if I should top dress once more but if I do I'll have to do it soon, probably with next watering. I'm thinking a light application of 2-8-4 Gaia power bloom and some worm castings from my bin should be enough to provide a little extra nutrition to make it through flower without overdoing it. I'm not sure what the expected flower time on this strain is but it is Beanstalk FAST so I'm thinking it'll probably finish in under 8 weeks. We'll see! 🌴🪱
Until next time.. Be well, y'all.
Update on the Beanstalk..
Big white hairs, can't wait to see her swell. I think I'm gonna like this strain.
Just watered 2L or so with some liquid kelp and EM. I think I'll top dress when I transfer tents.. after I buck down the plants I have drying, it's been 12 days (@60%RH) but I've been busy and keep putting it off. I also don't have a carbon filter on this tent and she's starting to get stinky, it's great. Happy growing! 🤙🤙🌱🌲
Into the 2x4. Under mars hydro sp250, full blast at 12 inches or so.. at about the same intensity as in the other tent according to lux meter, much more even across the canopy though. Also, this light draws the same 235W or so as the meizhi cob I run in the smaller tent so there's no extra power being used except for a slightly more powerful fan.
84F/60%RH but been fluctuating a bit as I try to dial it in and keep temps down and humidity stable.
Top dressed with 2 tblsp of 4-4-4 all purpose and about the same of 2-8-4 power bloom from Gaia green and a handful of worm castings (with a few worms included).
Hope they survive.. I'll probably throw down a mulch layer soon. Just watered in with RO water with a few drops of sea minerals for now, I'll add something microbial next watering, maybe some humics. Other than that, she's looking and smelling good! There's not much else to do other than keep them watered and keep the environment stable while they finish out. Happy growing! ✌️🪱
Hope everyone is doing well. Thing here are well enough, bit of tip burn and some white patches, what I think is mite waste. Not sure what to do at this point anyway, increasing the dry back a little and maybe a flush.
All good otherwise, got 3L of water 2 days ago, nothing added.
Happy flowering ✌️
