Dropped the Bubba seed into straight RO 7.0ph water, with just a dab of H2O2. First time trying the H2O2. Will soak for 12 hours, then paper towel, then rockwool, then cup, then 3 gallon cloth pot…

Seed did not sink. I did not sink it manually. Placed seed on wet paper towel, in between two paper plates to create darkness, but still allow airflow. Placed plates inside my veg tent which usually runs high 70s to low 80s. Will check for sprouting in 24 hours.

Checked seed 24 hours after paper towel and it cracked. Left seed in moist paper towel additional 7 hours to see if tap root would grow longer. It hardly grew. Dropped tap root into rockwool cube(5.5 ph soaked RO water) and put under humidity dome with clones. Hopefully not too far from the light. Once I see it sprout I’ll put it in a coco cup and move it closer to the light to hopefully avoid stretching.

About 12 hours later, the shell was still on. I decided to pull it off. It wasn’t the smoothest ordeal, but hopefully she will endure. Tap root is still sitting very loosely inside the cube. Lights on 24 hours. Low 80s for last 12 hours. Mid to high 70s for next 12 hours. Still in dome. Hopefully she opens by tomorrow morning and doesn’t stretch too much. Nice purplish color that I don’t see too often on seedlings.

She’s still alive, but I’ll wait to see some roots out the bottom of the cube before taking her out of the dome and into a coco cup. Come on, Bubba! You can do it!

Looks healthy, not much stretching so far, not growing too fast. Just added .025-.05 ec of grow formula. 5.9 ph. Veg tent shows 82F. 53% RH but I had the tent open for a while. I will bring down the temp a couple degrees.

New day, seedling hasn’t really grown much and I still don’t see roots coming out of the cube. I’m wondering if too much moisture might be hindering it. I’m going to try taking it out of the dome and leaving it directly under the light. Hopefully as the RH% decreases, it will rely more on its roots and start growing.

2 hours after taking out of the humidity dome and fertigating with .1ec grow formula, it’s looking better than it was. Will check again in 2 more hours. I think she knows what’s up.

Day: 7 |
Not sure how this will pan out. I feel like I should be seeing faster growth. Maybe I fudged it up somehow. Just going to stay the course and see what happens. Keeping cube wet, 5.7-5.8ph, .05-.1ec.
still alive and I do see a tiny bit of growth since yesterday, so we’ll see how it goes.

Day: 8 |
Leaves are noticeably bigger this morning. Looks like she’s doing okay and I just need to be a little more patient. I’m sure I did something to slow her growth, but it looks like she’ll overcome any of my mistakes. Fingers crossed. Still no roots from the bottom of the cube, but I will just stay the course. I’m fertigating with .05-.1ec around 6.0ph. Twice a day to keep the cube wet.

Day: 9 |
Finally have some roots out of the bottom of the cube. Preparing coco now and will transplant into cup by eod.
