NYGC-Dr Coco’s Blueberry Grow
Flip Day 35
I have fallen behind with my duties to my journal!
It has been a very hectic week. I am going to try to do better.
But we are also in the boring stage of the grow. The plants don't do to much during "Mid Bloom" - but they do look better and better each day!
My girls are still doing well! I am really happy with them. They have shown a good abilty to fight off pythium infections in their water. It doesn't phase them at all, which is good since I have been struggling with keeping the res clean on this run. I have not been chilling the tank as religiously as I probably should and therein likely lies the problem.
I had some misadventures with fertigation last week. i ran out of water once - well sort of twice. I also left the pump off for one light cycle 😲 I am attributing the slight tip burn to those issues and I think I should be able to keep water in the tank and the pump turned on going forward... I think.
Blue is lankier and taller than BB Kush. Their different growth at the end of the stretch comes through clear in the time-lapse, but my first effort to edit that was unsatisfactory, so I will work on a new one Maybe.. tomorrow?... Yikes - I really am still slammed. I teach a three hour class tomorrow and I am gone on Saturday to Meet @californiakid and @bert-b . I have Midterms from three classes (110 students total) to grade this weekend. Plus I want to update the drip system article - deal with the chat bugs - and just spend time chatting and reading journals. I will work a time-lapse into that some how.
Anyhow, here are the two plants!
I hope you and all of your plants are happy!
Flip Day 41 TIME LAPSE UPDATE!
So much for getting more regular updates here - Next week really should be better for me since I am on Spring Break, but the last few weeks have been BUSY! I was also sort of locked out of the forum for the last two days! - sorry if I missed your updates - please call my attention I am happy to give it!
Plants are doing great. I love these two plants. I haven't had to hand water them in forever - and at this point I am going to really try to make it the rest of the way. Still on 5x daily with 50 second events - but I did increase the flow about a week ago to get a little better run-off. I have it pretty well dialed in now and the plants seem to me happy about it.
As you will see, they have totally stopped vertical growth and are focused on bulking up. Blue did keep growing longer and right past BB Kush, but they are within a few inches of each other and very happy under their own lights.
I am happy each time I open the tent. The smell is becoming pretty intense. Kush looks like she is developing more photogenic buds, but Blue is smellier and stickier so far.
I have classes tomorrow and Friday, but then I am free for a week. I will post better updates then 😉
Hope that you and all of your plants are doing great!
Fantastic and despite some of the hiccups it’s really not effected them at all has it.. looking forward to seeing more later..
Flip Day 45
Both my ladies are doing well and are happy to be left alone for the most part. They are continuing to bulk up, but still have quite a ways to go. The SAFC is going to sneak up on them... Fortunately I do not need the tent for seedlings 🙂
I was out with my wife last night, so I missed lights on. I never go into the tent during lights on - because I have to turn the lights off to do so. I haven't been going into the tent at lights off for a while either (not during the dark period - but at lights off time. However, I did that this morning just to make sure that everything was good. The plants always look a little different after light than after darkness and I haven't seen them quite so sparkly before.
So, they are looking good, but still weeks away from being ripe! We'll just keep on growing on!
Flip Day 47
I was really happy with the girls when I opened the tent tonight. Damn, they are smelling good! I think it is mainly "Blue" She is a beautiful, sticky, and smelly plant - Really nice smell. I was just in there and had to handle her lightly... Now I can't stop smelling my hands! Mmmmm
Both plants are looking great really, but Blue just has a certain zest to her. She has become a truly large plant, and she likes to show off her flowers!
But @chefomj said I was teasing with the Bud Porn, so here are some close ups of BB Kush Buds for inspection! They are really nice structured buds. They have a slightly different morphology than Blue's Flowers.
You can see the difference from Blue here
Things have just been going very smoothly - They are on late Bloom nutes at about 1200 EC. Tonight, I grabbed a run-off sample in the first time in a while... I suggest that you check yours more frequently 😉 But as I sort of already knew, both girls are fine. Blue is at 1317 Run-off and BB Kush is somewhat more marginal at 1508. I have not flushed at all this grow. Hell, I haven't even hand-watered since February!!! Loving the two plant grow, the Hydro Halos, and the APT! But I am really looking forward to the 4 Auto-flower grow I have coming up soon 😉
These girls will not clear the tent in time. They may stick around till the end of the month at this rate! But they are happy and smelly and I am very happy with them.
Just went a little photo crazy tonight! Since I was down in there taking run-off samples I shot some more pics of their undercarriages! 😝
I have not totally decided if I like the 3-1-3 Mainline (Blue) or the 3-3-1 Mainline (Kush). They both look pretty cool, but very different. I cannot say how much it has affected their growth - but they have grown differently.
Anyway, I hope that all of your plants are doing well and making you excited about the harvest!
Flip Day 61
OMG it has been 2 weeks since I have been able to update - That is really bad! I will try to always do better!
We have been really busy with new development projects, but I gotta keep the journal updated!
At least I have kept the plants alive!
They are doing great. Has been a very low stress grow.
The Halos allowed me to skip handwatering for almost two full months!!! However, they did start to develop some tip burn and it clearly was not because of high inflow or run-off EC. So, I finally broke down and hand-watered the other day. They seemed to like it - but they are back on Halos only until the flush.
Still have a couple weeks - at least. I have not yet even begun checking trichomes. I did move them on to Ripen nutes though - just a couple days ago - as I did the hand-water. Still look like they need time to mature, but getting prettier and smellier everyday!
I've got some video and can make a new Time-Lapse... Those are really the reasons that I haven't updated more frequently... I always want to have stuff to post and some of that stuff takes a while to make! But I will get on that!
Looking forward to 4/20 😉
So Much Grower Love!
Flip Day 74
Really hasn't been much to report - Just waiting on these girls to finish up!
They are still on Ripen nutes - and they may stay that way for several more days, perhaps a week. They need to hurry up, because I have some new tenants who are going to be looking to move in soon!
I got some photos last night. There is the tip burn from the lack of hand-watering, but both plants are happy and swelling - happy with what I am seeing in there... from just two plants 🙂
And some new little videos! 🙂
Flip day 77 The time has come!
OK, so I am happy about this because the little SAFC girls are going to really appreciate moving to a larger apartment.
My NYGC girls are going to start their flush in the morning!
I checked them tonight and found very few clear trichomes. I found one amber on Kush - but none on Blue so far. It is odd, because Blueberry Kush still looks like she is growing for it 😉 Meanwhile Blue really looks like she is close to done.
Blue has been falling all over herself lately - she has required several new twist ties to hold her up and frankly she is just not an easy plant to restrain. I will get the time lapse up here soon, but Kush is quiet throughout and Blue looks like she is trying to walk out of the tent!
I am really happy with the grow so far - these two girls filled the tent with no problems at all. They both look like they will be solid yields. Blue is sure to win - but Kush has more meat on her than it may look. It is going to be a little chaotic having the harvest right as classes are wrapping up (I try not to show up to teach smelling like a pot farm - and sleep is always important) But I am excited about getting these girls hanging and getting the new girls into the tent!
