Today was a big one… I did one of, if not the last major defoliation on the ladies.
while doing it. I noticed what might be a few balls on the flower sites of one of the bag seeds that I’m growing. This would make sense, as the bud had seeds, so herming wouldn’t be a complete shock. I’m going to monitor the one plant over the next week or so and see if she shows more signs of being a herm. If so, she’ll get pulled and it’ll free up some tent room!!
here is a shot prior to defoliating
here is what they’re looking like post defoliation
I know - I stripped them hard. But I do this because I hate dealing with larf and grow for personal use. So focusing the energy to major Colas saves me time and effort, while only sacrificing weight that is likely run hash with or just have sitting around forever.
more to come!!
The ladies…. Are recovering well from the massive trim and lollipop I did.
however I have found a few nanners on two of them. Interestingly enough, the one plant is bag seed - so nanners would make sense. The other is a seed that came from the same batch of some apple candies that I recently harvested - that also had some seeds…
I decided that I wanted to get as much light and airflow as possible to the girls. So I put up tomato cages today.
I was going to use a scrog net, but want to be able to rotate these plants around a bit.
this is the first time I’ve used tomato cages… we’ll see how they work out!
the plants have been pretty healthy. One or two showing signs of being a little more sensitive than the rest, but aside from the potential herms - things are going well.
I’m not sure if I am going to just keep plucking balls, or trash these two plants…. - any thoughts?
I think it’s week 5 and the buds are progressing well. However I’m still finding random little nanner packs every few days… I’m positive that I’m going to have some seeds, but this run was pretty experimental regardless. Entering I wasn’t confident with my germination. I am now confident of my process there. I also didn’t have as regimented of a measuring solution for my nutes, and upgraded my equipment which has made me more confident in what I’m giving the girls.
I also learned what too much trimming is. I Hermed put a few of these plants by stripping them so heavily. I’ve been chasing the issue since, and will probably have to do a deep clean in the tent when I’m done. However, by attaching these ladies and their 8 mains to tomato cages, I’ve been able to see all of the nanners because of how spread out everything is.
a pic of the room, and main colas of each. The front 2 are old bag seed purple punch, the left two are elev8 Thundersnow, and looking big and frosty. And the right two are elev8 apple candies, which are looking OK.
im excited about the Thundersnow because I just harvested another Thundersnow seed that was a beautiful plant. The apple candies i recently harvested was OK, but buddered up on the press, which is a win.
Been having issues posting.
around 54 days post flip, starting to get some purple in a few plants. The main colas are really starting to get big and juicy. One of the purple punches has been a runt, and a few others definitely have seeds… but the plants look and smell amazing.
probably 2.5-3 more weeks! I’ll lower nutes big time next week, and might just run water after day 63/64 until the trichs show me they’re ready!

I just finished with 2 weeks of adding Koolbloom, while keeping my EC below 2.4 for the ladies. I have no idea if it really does add weight to the buds or ripen them at all. But I use it and make sure I use it sparingly. I accidentally used some flower nutes with a koolbloom in it on a few late Veg autos last run and they weren’t burnt visually for the rest of the run.
the plants are looking good! The two Thundersnow are showing some dark green/ purple change, and they’re both beautiful plants. One fatter, the other frostier - always works that way…
the two apple candies are looking good as well. One with tight dark buds with light hairs and a ton of deep purple in the upper canopy. The other is so frosty it’s hard to comprehend, but very bright green, and relatively small bud sites.
the two Purple punch bag seeds - one is looking nice and has good bud structure, as well as smells like the bud I remember. The other is a runt and hasn’t really grown much. If she was a single plant I’d be pretty disappointed.
all of these plants have shown signs of seeds. I knew there was a chance with the genetics and with the training I’d be doing, but post this run, I’m going to do a deep clean of the tent and make sure I’m not dealing with issues down the line.
