PTGC Misfits: 45 sq/ft, 18 girls, 2 beds, 1 canopy
Quick update videos, about to commence some major training on these girls over the next few weeks. Topping, snapping and bending, plucking all kinds of leaves, tying down, foliar spraying silica, rear naked chokes etc. I may need to flip before the PTGC Flip Day (forgive me!!) But I'll do my best to push it as long as I can, just need to make sure I get a few rooted cuts from each girl first. ABC. Always Be Cloning!!
No picture to show it, but went in yesterday and pulled a bunch of the top, newer fan leaves off of the taller branches, pinched and bent a few down, and cranked the wattage up a little on the LEDs. Gave them a nice feed of fasilitor (silica), medi one, recharge, tribus and lumina, epsom salts, sea90, few different biobizz additives, and thermx70. Top dressed my custom "build a soil craft blend" mix about a week ago which I think I failed to mention. A lot of heavy feeding up front, then coast downhill in flower after about week 6. We might have a few 5 footers in here by the time they're done! Not sure I can tame this after the flip 😆
Smoke good, eat good, feel good 😎 random shots from the last run, and some delicious avocado bacon smoked salmon bagels that keep me going 🥯 🐟 🥓 🥑
This may be the longest I have ever, or will ever let these ladies get this much light during the day. I've been pinching them until their necks snap, plucking leaves, forcing them down under the cage, and they still want to act healthy and be all perky. I need them to slow tf down!! Getting their skirts removed before too long so I can make babies with all the mommas in the room 😎
Does anyone else work 50 hours a week, have young kids in sports/activities that are daily, and still manage to find time to spend in the garden?! We should vent to each other. Its hard, but worth it. Cheers to those in the same boat! 🍻
Today the girls got a nice foliar feed of some pea protein isolate, which is full of amino acids. I'm starting to consider dimming the lights down to slow the growth, that way I'm able to make it to the Flip Day.
Since I havent mentioned much about my room, I'll go over the basics, feel free to ask about anything else.
Beds- Grassroots living soil beds 4x4 inside of 4x4 trays, first 2-3" of soil mix filled with gravel and sand mixture, the rest is buildasoil 3.0 blend. This is the second run in this mix.
Lights-both LEDs, the light to the left, is a Geeklight 480w Monster board, and the light to the right is a Geeklight 630w Geekbeast plus that I won on here!! Both great lights although I prefer the coverage of the bar style. And if you can see them (currently off) there are led shop light strips running along the top of the scrog screen.
Fans-got some new Hurricane floor fans in yesterday!! High quality fans here. Way cheaper than the wall mounted fans with metal blades and way better than the plastic ones. I just bought some hooks and screwed them into the wall on one side of the room, and the ceiling on the other side of the room, and hung them upside down. You can kind of see the difference in the videos. Also have AC INFINITY s6 6" fans for intake and exhaust. 6" Carbon filter as well.
Really hoping to find some time this weekend to go in and do a really good training session. I may top some of the thicker branches. I will be taking all of my cuttings from the bottom when I do the lollipopping and am going to try and get at least 3 or 4 cuts off of each one hoping I can get at least 1 to root as a backup. You never know when you just might find that keeper and it's always when you don't take cuts! Always be cloning
A little bit of information about the genetics, looks like I'll be shooting for a 58-63 day flowering period depending on my schedule.
Unfortunately not every plant will see It's full potential considering I will be harvesting the entire room within a 2 day period and it won't necessarily be when any particular plant is ready, it will just be when I have the time.
Went in last night and did a pretty heavy deformation, accidentally taking a few tops and lower branches off, without being ready to clone them. Oops! If I can find time this week to take cuts/backups, it's priority. Got a new phone so I'll test the camera out this week. These girls are starting to get tall!!
Quick last week of veg update. Looks like we'll make it to flip day without taking any shortcuts! Still need to take cuts, hoping to do that Friday, just been hella busy. Flip day is Saturday. Boom. Perfect timing after all. Once u get the cuts taken I'll clean the bottoms up real nice, redial the blumats, and get some nice journal worth photos up going into flower.
