PTGC Mainlines: Highflyins Exotic G’s Monkey Berries
Nothing going on until the 24.... that’s when i plan on popping my seeds. If I do this I think I’ll be right on time to flower on the 1st? It will be about thirty to thirty five days of veg. This will be my first attempt at the mainline style of growing I have grown many different methods in the past so not sure if the timing is right but unless I hear differently that’s how it will go down!! I will post some pics of my current grow now with my light I built using Pacific light concepts photo boost led strips. I run a perpetual garden with a veg room and flower. I run a T6 and T4 in-line fan and love them. This is also my first grow from Exotics tried the grease monkey in Alaska and loved it so im expecting big things here!!
Behold my fortress lol I built her from 2x4 studs and 1/2 plywood the whole thing is 4’x8’. I have know idea if it is better than a tent but I had fun building it! Veg is the purple room 2’x4 space wall petitioning off the flower room leaving about 5’x4’ for the flower.
Currently growing Sannies Sugarpunch coco coir mixed with good helping of perlite using Jacks 3 2 1 nutrient regime I’m still hand watering but soon to install an automatic watered so far so good keepin it real simple supplement with silica and recharge weekly but as you can see very unruly bunch!! I topped them once between the fifth and sixth node they vegged for three weeks and now their monsters. I think I will really like the mainline style I like clean managed plants plus I think it will be more efficient with the LED strips vs deep penetrating COBS or HPS. Plus I’m all about keeping my buds all nice and uniform.
I plan on growing three monkey berries was thinking 3gallon pots but idk thinking maybe go with 5 gallon cloth instead? Besides that everything else will stay the same as this grow currently.
It happened yesterday 100% germ in 24 hours gotta love that!! I seen one poking through this morning but had to run will take a pic tonight. Got them in peat pellets for now and still on 77 degree F propagation mat will transplant into cups in next day or two 😁.
Here is the photos I promised five days ago... all three are upright and soaking up the rays! The small one just finally opened up today she was having problems with popping off her helmet so I had to assist her but I think she will be fine so far so good! The two older ones got their first feeding yesterday bout .6 EC (one third strength Jacks Pro 321). I will feed baby girl soon as she grows them leaves out a bit!
Few more photos their all doing very well def not the most exciting part but I’m tickled pink all three are in action!! Fed the baby today for the first time with the others. Still .6 EC for now PH was 5.9 try to bounce around between 5.8 and 6.0 watering once a day. Started them off in one gallon cloth pots don’t usually but decided to go for it so far all is well. Room temp is currently 75F 65% RH.
To keep it spicy.... pretty happy with my Sugarpunch five weeks out now from the flip thus far got two of the pink phenos and one smells just like fruity stripes gum absolutely to die for! Popped five beans 100% germ. As of right now with the monkey berries iv had 13 beans straight with 100% germ I feel super lucky! These sugar punch needed to be trained vigorously iv never grown plants that grew like these things!
Girls are doing fine the oldest have some leaf curl and noticed some small brown spots I'm thinking calcium def possibly magnesium as well so I stepped up the PPM too around 650 (500 scale) I believe I was just under feeding them they just grow up so fast I don’t even realize it!! Started that two nights ago and they look a lot more perked up already so I’m not concerned.
Also big thanks too the Doctor on the self draining saucers I plan on building them just like the DIY on this site but for now I’m improvising until I up pot the berries into 3 gallons didn’t want to pay 11 bucks or more for the pot lifters so I cut some old flashing trim I had it was already in a 90 degree bend and bam super cheap alternative I’m all about cheap when I won’t hurt nothing!!
Well the two oldest are currently five nodes working on six leaf curl seems to have stopped in the newer leafs But they seem a little sad so I gave them a extra shot of cal mag last night with some recharge. I also think my saucer was keeping them too wet going to complete the saucer DIY this weekend get them some more room and better drainage. I’m going to wait for them to perk up a bit before chopping off their heads. The smaller plant is lagging behind but she’s a fighter I know she will get their! Hopefully get them topped and branches cleaned up real soon!
