Pure Gooey and Sinai landrace
I'm starting this journal to help myself keep track of my grow of these seeds. I'll do my best to do a post every day but will probably be closer to every other day.
I'm growing some Pure Gooey '09 from Canna Exotics and some Sinai landrace from Real Seed Company. I haven't grown either before but I'm very excited. One of my favorite plants I've ever grown was an AK47 x Gooey so I'm planning to keep the males and pick through to find a keeper. I'll be doing the same with the Sinai seeds as well.
My lighting will be COBs from Rapid LED. I'm building them today and trying to get the new 4x2 tents up in place. Currently I have a 4x8 veg and 4x8 flower but will soon be making it a 4x4 veg, 2x4 flower, another 2x4 flower and the 4x8 flower. The 4x8 has Growmau5 Chilled Logic V3 Pucks and the 2x4 tents will both have 3500k COBs but I'll be adding some 4000k COBs when I can afford to add more.
I hope this suffices for an introduction. I'm sure I forgot some key information but I'll post more soon.
Seedlings are getting bigger. Slowly but surely. They're going to get their first watering with recharge tonight. I have a couple seedlings under a CMH 315w sharing the light with a couple Panama Reds. I have them on a couple upturned pots to lift them closer to the light and the Panamas are on the sides to not shade out the seedlings. Want to see if they grow differently than the ones under the T5 light.
Decided to post the description information for the Sinai seeds from Kwik seed company for some background about the seeds.
"Genetics: Pure Sinai Landrace
Sourcing: The Real Seed Company, personally collected at source in Sinai, 1990 – 1997
Purpose: Hashish (sieved resin) or bud
Latitude: 29° N
Regional Harvest: September
Height: 0.6 – 1.8 metres
Aroma: Unique tangy rose; hashy Indica notes
Characteristics: Early maturing, semi-autoflowering, hardy, unique terpenes, Indica- and Sativa-type morphology
Grow Type: Outdoors, greenhouse, or indoors
This Sinai landrace was collected in the mountains of Egypt between 1990 and 1997. It exhibits unique terpenes, a special high, and sought-after Indica-type plants. This is a fast-flowering strain that can show day-neutral (autoflowering) traits.
Indica-type expressions of this Sinai landrace range from 0.6 to 1.5 metres and have a compact Christmas-tree profile. Sativa-type plants range 1.3 – 1.8 metres and have a trainable ‘vine’ habit with prolific branching. Both types express a unique rose scent, with Indica-type plants intensely pungent during vegetative growth but developing tangy ‘Turkish delight’ aromas during flower. Buds grow in a foxtail structure, are reasonably airy, and are resinous. Buds of Indica-type plants are less leafy and more dense.
This Sinai landrace is very hardy due to the demanding conditions in Egypt’s mountains, which range from 50°c and high humidity in summer to dry, freezing conditions in winter. Cultivation by Bedouin in the wadi is basic, occasionally using mud brought in from the Nile, but usually only camel dung.
The high from Sinai cannabis is distinctive, with a medicating and blissful effect.
Landraces native to Sinai share more traits with strains found to the north in the Middle East, which is the direction from which they originally diffused out of Inner Asia, than with those found to the south in Sub-Saharan Africa.
A proportion of plants will exhibit CBD. A standout specimen tested in Holland exhibited 16% THC and 1.5% CBD."
Greetings. I'm sorry I haven't done an update in a few days. Was a busy holiday with family in town and working on days I was supposed to have off but because I work with some incompetent people, I had to work.
Anyways, plants are all good and growing well. I topped the last few and upplanted them all to one gallon pots. I'll take some pictures tonight.
Hope you're all well and high
Did a top dressing of worm castings and watered it in with kelp and humic acid. Going to do a spray with neem and kelp tonight.
