10 of 10 germinated and grew to seedlings so far so good, used jiffy pellets and tap water that shows 7.4 ph and 360 ppm

just switched to distilled water after some yellowing, and going to grab my coco perlite bags today.. I tried using some bricks off Amazon and they were terrible, trash and dirt / sand, very little actual fiber, probably some mulched wood of some kind added to it. I’m gonna try to just get the pre buffered and mixed bags 1.7-2 cubic ft each now.

Royal Gold Tupor and buffered COCO

Potted seedlings straight into 5 gallon bags, using 3 x 1.76 cu ft royal gold tupor which is more like 50% coco, then a mix of perlite and basalt, so I added one full 1.75 cu ft coco bag pre buffered, cleaned and ready to use. Should bring the mix to 60-65% coco.

Aglex 800 watt Led Light Bars / 5 Gallon to Start

I went straight into the 5 gallons from jiffy pellets and at first was having issues like yellowing, and stunted growth. Once I realized I needed to water/ fertigate them with 4-5x the recommended amount in the 2023 nutrient schedule (since I’m not using 1 gallon bags) the plants have started to pop and they look so much better now. Over the last 3 days I’ve seen more growth than in over a week

I also lowered the power on my led light bars - Aglex 800 watt to the 2nd lowest setting and they are about 3’ from the plants. If I go any lower or add even 1 more to the 3rd power setting the leaves on the northern lights start to curl a bit. The lower light power seems to have also helped.

They really look great now, with more fertilizer / water

The plant that had the worst yellowing ( front center) is actually now the biggest widest plant!

Watering Irrigation Grow Tent Update Harbor Freight 4 Gallon Backpack

Cannabis Grow RenderedImage
Cannabis Grow IMG 5909

So I originally got a cheap irrigation setup on Amazon, I set it up and then realized the nozzles, the pump etc is just not adequate- so next time I’ll buy rainbird or a legit supplier for the nozzles and if I’m growing 6 or more plants then you need a really good water pump to make the nozzles work like they are supposed to. I think a diaphragm pump would work better than a water tank pump like what is used in an aquarium. I’ll have to do more research on that… I got this 4 gallon backpack sprayer from harbor freight and I loooove it! So nice to water the plants with a backpack sprayer, and with 4 gallon capacity I can mix it up and use it for days (4-5) for a 4x4 tent size. The water is evenly dispersed and is just a better way to fertilize them imo doing it by hand.

650 PPM , Topped all of them and gonna flip them in 3 weeks

the plants all look excellent, the coco and fertilizer schedule is working great. My tent has been 73-80 degrees consistently and relative humidity at 60-65% with .8 to 1.2 VPD depending on the time of day

I moved my lights down closer to the plants a few days ago , couple days after my last post (about 18” from tops, and then set my light power at 70%)

they are going through 1 - 1.5 gallon of fertilizer/ water every day.

Some weird spots showed up on a few plants. Cal MG or worse!?

I got some weird spots on a few plants, I have added extra cal mag hopefully that’s all it is I dunno tho, we did just have like 10 days of high temps and 70%+ RH

the tent was at 78-79 degrees almost all the time, and the humidity was hard to get below 70%, so I’m worried the plants may have something like a fungus or mold screwing with them? Not sure but the room the tent is in is really clean and I try to keep bugs and any moisture away from the tent. I want to flip to flower but I gotta get this figured out and I just ordered a new bigger dehumidifier also, it says 2500 sq ft, which is grossly exaggerated but should work for the 5x5 tent.

Northern lights, Green crack, Sour jack flipping

Cut the lighting one hour a day to soften the flip, not sure if it matters but should be 3 more days till they are at 12/12

Had to pause flip for flushing and high Runoff EC

Plants starting having brown spots and yellowing, after I used higher EC fertilizer  , going from 1 to 1.4

had to flush them, some got 5 gallons of water and some got 1-2 gallons , I made a low EC mix about 30% of what I used normally and then tried to get the runoff down to no more than + 300

hopefully that’s all it is is to much fertilizer and not enough water.

Self watering pot bases ac infinity

Just got self watering bases for my plants, still kinda in flush mode, gonna keep running low EC till they are under 900 EC and then start using the wicks for self watering for the whole way into harvest

Burned the shit out of a few of my babies 😂

Using ph 6 distilled water,  have gone through 45 gallons in a few days trying to flush them. Hoping these self watering bases work well for the rest of this grow.

EC not PPM, Flip started

I probably have said PPM in this journal when I should be saying EC, so I’m just putting this note here. My tds meter is on the ECU “ uS setting “

nutrient issues started when I was over 1200 EC

anyways after flushing, and putting them back on a diet of 800 ec fertiliser they look like they are doing better. Flipping them and in transition now, dropped the timer one hour a day and almost to 12 / 12. Started to get some strong aromas from them too.

Here’s some of the dead leaves I cut off the bottoms of the plants and a few spotted leaves that I found in the mid sections.

She used to blow now she just sucks

Cannabis Grow IMG 6251
Cannabis Grow IMG 6250

I switched around the vent fan so now I got negative air pressure and the vent is off the ground, which also gives the plants a lot of room. I am back at 450 EC of cal mag and have been giving the nutes about 800-900 EC , no more than 1500 EC. I think they are recovering, starting to fill out and looking brighter green without as much yellowing and issues
