SAFC Fruit: Spring Fling - Bruce in a Lemon Haze

Hot Hot Hot ! I have been watering every other day for the most part. The 5 gal autos require at least this frequency. Getting away with every third day on everything else. Added a Grapefruit Romulan to the mix. I think this will be my PTGC.  I will not harvest with everyone else in the SAFC since I'm 30 days behind. Buds beginning to look pretty nice on the autos, but the plants are pretty small.

Back at the homestead. All the plants seem to have thrived in my absence. I find it fascinating when I grow autos and photos at the same time. The autos put all their energy into flowering right when the photos are starting to reach for the sky. I put a Larry Lemon Auto next to a Lemon Tree and a CPK photoperiod. All in different sized pots.  The difference in growth rates is crazy. The Critical Purple Kush has some sizable leaves too, as do some of the others. Autos should be ready in a couple/few weeks. The newest addition (Grapefruit Romulan), got transplanted and looks like it is ready for topping. PTGC baby.

According to the breeder these autos should mature within the next week. I have seen a bit of foxtailing again on the autos this year. I do not know if it is inconsistent or inadequate light. All my autos from every breeder foxtailed last year. It makes for poor quality buds that are difficult to clean and prep because of all the small leaves and stems. The photos do not seem to have an issue. It may be that the autos are flowering at the peak of the high temps while the photos are still in veg.

These plants are on the small side even for autos. Their structure does not branch much so there is really only the central cola. I have not run autos indoors yet so maybe I will have better results in optimum conditions. I also did two transplants which may stunt them a little. I have never tried starting autos in their final container. So much to learn.

So I had stopped spraying when these girls went into flower for the most part. They survived well enough to harvest without too much damage. One of the Lemon Larry's must have gotten a worm because I noticed a bit of rot in the main cola. Snipped it out and harvested. The other 2 were close behind. There was a little bit of insect activity under a few leaves. Nothing major. And the final contestant had foxtailing. I wet trimmed everything pretty liberally and they are all hanging. There may be enough here to smoke while I trim in October. Pretty meager but what the heck.
