New beans popping out of their shells. Germinated Saturday evening 16/03/2019 in room temp bottled water, placed in paper towels and already dropped 3/4 in Coco, tails were ready today, waiting for PC to get a little longer she'll go into Coco today as well.
Not sure where I'm going to grow them just yet, it's warming up so I bet they'll be getting sunshine for the most part. Will do some light deprivation and finish them in my shop or the tent the NYGC girls are in. Using the seedling bags @dr-coco sent with my shirt. Thanks doctor!
Any tips as to how to keep them vertical and keep them from sitting in runoff? More news and pics to come. Happy growing all!
Day 4.5 things are looking good. They'll finally get a dark period today. I've got my lights a little too high and you can see how they want to get leggy.
So far so good. Loving these nursery bags, thanks again @dr-coco. Humidity is up to 60% with the humidifier constantly running temps averaging 75f. First dark period today so I'll be seeing a little cooler temps then what we are averaging.
I'm going to have to make some saucers, getting another auto water set up. So I'll need to order more pumps. I'm hooked on this style of grow ATM and really loving the convenience of it all. Thanks for stopping by. Hope everyone has a great week ahead. Growers Love!!
Transplanted all 4 into half gallon plastic pots after 7 days, couldn't wait for transplant bags as roots were protruding through the seedling bags. I'll use the bigger ones next time.
They're doing good OG kush being the dominant one ATM. Day 10 from sprouting.
Mama Mia right on her tail.
Peyote critical displaying some uneven growth and started rotating her and GGxLilly. Here's PC
GGxLilly
fertigating twice daily and haven't checked ec yet. Inflow has been 835ec since transplant. And I'll be checking outflow after mixing a new batch of nutes aiming for a little lower ec, I buffered the Coco and seem to have tell tale signs of ca def, no spotting yet.
I'm going to be moving them into a 4x4 tent if they continue to be vigorous. Guess I better order my stuff for auto water system #2 and keep them there.
Training ytbd. But thinking of doing a mainline grow. Sticking with GH maxi series. And will run them under 1000 watt HIDs. I feel like I've left something out... Stoner moment. Any ways happy growing all! Have a great weekend.
Day 13 and roots are showing at the bottom of the pot. However I think I'm going to keep them in the half gallons for a few more days. I think I have enough Coco for 7 gallon pots for finals.
They certainly are growing better and faster then my challenge plants and I blame Vegamatrix for that. I have a slight ca issue but I raised pH a bit and increased camag. Ec in 778-838 Outflow 954.
Almost time to go into the 4x4 and review my early growth feed chart. Getting everything ready and ordered for another auto water and it should be very interesting to watch vigor this time instead of trying to bring plants back to health. Planning on having some monsters here.
I think I'm getting this Coco stuff down 😉😜🌱💚
Chugging along, I think I'm going to do final pots from here. It may slow things down a little bit as vigorous as these plants are I doubt it will be much. I honestly didn't expect them to grow up so fast since I had problems last time at this stage. I had a bit of camg def this time but easily corrected with raising pH and making room for calmag in my solution.
They all seem like heavy feeders, fertigation frequency increased to 3x daily. I've yet to check outflow again but will do so later this evening. When they're growing like this I tend to get lax on it and just go by what they tell me. And they're telling me to move them under the big light now lol, I just haven't cleaned my space yet and need to make some drain saucers. Ordering my stuff next week for auto water so I've got lots of work to do still yet. Let's see if pictures will load. Nope no pics sorry, will try later.
Wasn't sure I was ready to grow out in the shop but this is probably where they're going to stay. I don't have time to mess around and can't grow these girls outside. I have other plans for outdoors. Still can't upload pics but you can check my IG if you want to see the gals. I had some root pics I was going to load that aren't on IG but maybe next time.
Day 21 plants aren't doing so hot, my environment sucks right now. I've had some major temp swings and lighting issues. For some reason my timer was set for the wrong time on a couple days. So it switched lighting abruptly and I don't think they're happy with me. I'm hoping the extra rest helps but things are a little rough and slow right now.
OGkush
she has a wierd leaf that I didn't notice when I transplanted last week.
ggxlilly
mama Mia
Peyote critical
Sorry about the magnetic lines in the pics.
Ec outflow 1.2 from all plants inflow 1.0 temps killing me 81f and got down to 50s a couple times, rh wack dew point also killing me, the girls were soaked with dew when I got up to see what I could do. Completely unstable and I hope they come back around.
I've since put a heater out there to try and keep dew point from happening and dropping temps. Have to wait for lights on to see if my attempt works. They are still sad and angry with me, maybe a bit too soon for these pots too but I'm going to keep my fingers crossed. Good thing I got more beans going down soon lol. Is it 4/20 yet?
I'm going to have too many plants for the amount of time I'm able to give very soon. Mixing 3 different batches of nutes is going to be great 🙄 I'm not too thrilled about that but I should have my auto water set up with this grow soon. Going to have to keep the res warm as opposed to keeping it cold out in my shop, adding an aquarium heater until not needed. Any way glad pics work again. Happy growing everyone!
Training time!
I think they thanked me for taking off their heads lol. Without all those growth tips to expend energy on, they seem much happier.
Temps becoming more stable, though it's still a little chilly at night. They don't seem to mind it now. Maybe that's due to being indicas.
Ec is dangerously high but it will be corrected later this evening. Mostly due to how infrequently I am watering. And that I'm running some organics through the medium. I added kelplex for a few waterings, top dressed ewc, poked holes in the medium and dropped in some mycorrhiza, then started some Trinity. But all in all they aren't showing signs of struggle as far as ec or ner goes.
I've set aside money for another auto water system and will be ordering parts soon. This will help with the infrequent waterings and give me more control over my nutrient solutions. I have to increase frequency and I don't have time in the day to do so and I don't want the wife to be burdened with watering. Maybe I can get a growmie to come over and do it till my parts arrive. Anyway here are some shots from yesterday.
. I wanted to see the difference in growth if I leave the big fans on for now as opposed to stripping the plant. Wonder if @dr-coco has done anything similar with his mainlines?
Happy Growing everyone and have a great weekend!
Thoughts @dr-coco @drphoton? @anyone?
Aside from that and cold lights off temps plants seem to be doing well. I see leaf mass getting bigger and roots already poking out of the fabric pots. Things might be a little slow because of temp and humidity at lights out. Don't have a way to rectify that right now and a little worried about wpm. I will have to increase airflow and figure something out before more problems arise. They don't seem stressed and are growing regardless. We'll see if this stress plays any factors in flowering/herming later down the road but I know 2 of these strains can take it and still produce. The Mama Mia
and the ggxlilly
The other 2 I'm not so sure about, the Peyote Critical looks good and I'm more confident in the breeder then the Growers Choice version of OG Kush. Here's PC
and the OG looks like it may have tmv but still uncertain since it's only one leaf and growth looks fine. Not sure if you can see the 2 toned leaf in this pic but here is OG
She's the closest to topping again and the reason I don't believe it to be tmv. Plus the other Growers Choice bbk has some wierd stuff going on just like this OG so who knows? Lol I'll be keeping an eye out. Thanks for stopping by. I'm kind of curious if anyone has thoughts on the brownish tips in the first pics? Don't think I've seen it happen before.
Auto water ftw!! Just got to get my res, some half inch ts, and some saucers that I can modify for draining. My thought was to try and do a little counter sink in the saucers and using a PVC elbow and a flat washer but not sure if the saucer material is thick enough for that. We'll figure it out in the next couple days.
I'm doing a different form of training for the OG Kush then traditional mainline or manifold. Instead of taking off the second node after topping again I took the first.
GGxLilly is right behind her and will probably be topped again tomorrow and will take the second node off as well. Hope that makes sense lol, after you've done a couple mainlines/manifolds you get to know this lingo/jargon.
these 2 seem to be more sativa in structure and they will need to be bonded soon.
Peyote Critical has got some great leaf mass with a traditional short and stalky structure that indica dominant plants normally show. Have to pick up another halo for her while I'm out getting supplies. She may be topped tomorrow or the next day since she's picked up the pace.
Mama Mia is an interesting plant, the second time I've grown her. She takes fair to training but really doesn't gain good momentum after toppings. She's going to be the last one to be topped, maybe a few days. She looks like she's been attacked by a pest, maybe pH? She's the only one that seems to have this issue, maybe I'll put some sticky traps in there but not overly concerned about it right now since there are no signs of any other pest issues. But I'm trying to think what could have caused it. Cricket? Mosquito? Caterpillar (which would be odd in Coco)?
Don't laugh... Wait go ahead and laugh lol. I had missed a branch when I first started training and had already given away my cuts, so I just stuck it in the ground immediately and it was doing well until I put the halo in there.. Don't try this at home lol. Going to see if it roots and may try to excavate and gift it or just let it grow and add some madness into this grow lol.
Ec inflow 1.0-1.1 outflow 1.3. Now that I have better control over ec from my days off I need to keep the frequent fertigations up thankfully our gear came. Off to a good start and expect another great harvest using @dr-coco style of growing. He's got me hooked on Coco lol. Growers Love!

An improvement to @dr-coco catchment solution.
these are half inch poly line connectors that I can just slide drain lines onto. This will make cleaning quick and easy for a numerous amount of grows.
Here's how I'm going to do the drain lines.
fastened half inch grommet with gorilla glue. I can now attach a half inch elbow connector and then attach my lines. Can also remove the elbow to take samples from a collection tray instead of trying to suck up run off. Just waiting on the glue to dry to see if it works out. I'm pretty sure it's going to hold after checking on it.
And here are the girls, all set up awaiting the drain saucers. I think i have the halos dialed in right. The flow valves I got from the grow shop suck compared to the ones from home Depot and thinking of swapping them out. But we'll see how it goes.
Should be a cake walk from here on out. Happy growing!
Keeping 3 journals up here and trying not to tie them together lol. Anyway day 33 and I need to start some bonding. I did a little lst but I know they'll bounce back in a matter of hours.
Despite my lack of control over my environment they seem to be doing well, maybe a slight n tox, leaves are beginning to curl a bit. I'll have to check outflow later this evening, it should be fine since they are getting 4x watering daily. But to be safe I'll check. Hand watering so it's easier to collect.
I accidently snapped the right side main on OG kush but immediately had plastic wrap available and that's what I used. It broke a few days ago and I haven't looked at the wound, looks like it's growing just fine though.
GGxLilly is doing okay but still gets that brownish color on new growth and I have no idea what it is. Though it probably has something to do with environment. But she's right behind OGk.
Mama Mia is finally competing with the other plants and has gained some vigor after final topping. Actually she seems to be the healthiest plant, just not as developed. She was praying to the light before I bent her down. I did a funky form of mainline lol. I didn't pay attention and it is what it is now haha.
Peyote Critical got a little fan leaf trim. She keeps working on that leaf mass and I wanted to keep good air flow. I might take a few more as we go depending on how she looks later on. Her leaves are voluptuous and I have high hopes for her.
I don't know how this got in there or what it even is but it looks like I picked up a companion plant whilst moving then into the shop I'm guessing lol.
Getting ready to flip them in a week, I had already mixed up late veg nutes and didn't want to adjust in fear of compromising ec in the res. Hopefully the new light schedule will help with my environment, else I will have to set up a dehumidifier. Which really isn't a bad thing since lighting schedule runs during the colder part of the day. I'm using 11am-11pm darkness in expectations of a heat wave lol.
Still cold here and I hope spring is better this year then last. It was cold up till June. Anyways have a great week and thanks for stopping by. Happy growing!!
Well it's still in the low 40s here at night and day time temps aren't much better. With a high of 82f and a low of 59f I'm still battling dew point. I've increased airflow and decreased rh by 20% but it's still a little high. Hoping it warms up soon, I shouldn't have to worry once dew point is out of the picture.
I've decided to just flip the switch and start transition. Canopies are nice and even and I'm thinking it's time. I underestimated the stretch before with mainlines and I'm pretty sure they will be some decent size plants.
Still got that curl going on and I'm thinking high rh at night is the culprit. Inflow ec 1.1 ec outflow 1.3. Watering 4x daily but could probably do 3x to keep rh lower at night. Though the dew point may not be as bad with the new light schedule, I just want to keep ec in check.
Found this sign moving stuff around and I thought it was funny. It's my signature for this grow, I'm breaking some rules and growing with changes lol.
I thought for sure the weather wouldn't be an issue this late in the year but mother nature is playing games around here. I'm going to have to seal this room in my shop and make it functional for all seasons. Tired of procrastinating and limiting myself. Time to get serious about it this summer provided I can muster up the energy 🙄🤔🤷♂️. Too much work to little time. Happy growing everyone!! Thanks for dropping in.
Trucking along. There were pistils before I flipped so I'll be taking them off transition nutes and starting my early bloom week with added kelplex.
Rh has improved some but still a little high and should be rectified before mid bloom. Starting to warm up and I'll probably be running an AC by late bloom. But think the Rh made the leaves curl, they aren't dark green and actually look a little yellow on the top, possibly due to light proximity. I don't believe it's a deficiency or toxicity though. Ec and pH are fine. Temps suck atm because it's still 40s at night and with lights on they're not reaching peak temps. 66f right before lights went out and climbing with lights off. Mother nature sure likes playing games this time of year.
Going to have to get in there and do some pruning/ lollipopping, there is moisture developing on clustered leaves. Then I'll have to do some more height training they're still in stretch mode despite environment and exploding. I'm expecting the canopy to fill out really well after this and a couple more weeks it should be pretty filled out.
OG kush is really making her presence known in the tent and the other girls seem a little shy of her. Maybe because she has some funky shaped leaves and started the curling trend.
GGxLilly is trying to keep up and lower mains have surpassed the top ones. We won't be done training until we get height in check and end of stretch.
Mama Mia maintains a shorter structure with broad leaves and really needs some bonding to clean up not so much pruning.
Peyote Critical has the broadest leaves and bigger then my hand. I will have to clip some and will post a pic when I get done trimming. Trying to gain some height and really scary to bond. Sturdy branches that barely budge. I am really not into bonding her and will have a better idea of manipulation when I clean her up.
Sorry about the hps pics, I used my shades but they are still yellowish, atleast the magnetic bars aren't in there lol. Thinking of getting a new little lens for camera phones. Here's a link for any one using hids and would like better pics. https://humblegarden.co/
Happy growing everyone!!
