Hey MephHeads and CFC crew 😎
It's an honour to be named group leader of this group. As Doc said, it's like I've got number 1 draft pick! I'm growing a hubbabubbasmelloscope in the cupboard in Coco under 240watts of QB. As this is a longer and larger strain I plan on doing a Nebula Haze style manifold (two toppings) as an experiment. Let's go MephHeads!
Strain info...
Originals Strain: Hubbabubbasmelloscope
Genetic Heritage - Serious Seeds 90's Bubblegum cut x Breeding Auto WC1
Seed Type: F6 Feminised Automatic
Â
Project introduction and Overview:
Â
Hubbabubbasmelloscope is a very special part of the Mephisto Genetics collection. Many years ago Bubblegum was the first Amsterdam cannabis we experienced, and so holds a sentimental reason to us. A couple of years ago we were lucky enough to be given a very special bubblegum cutting of 90âs serious seeds origin. Years later, several hundred plants were grown to find a matching high quality bubblegum smelling male to mate her with, but none matched her so she remains as an elite cutting..as a photoperiod. We crossed her to one of our high quality auto parents that is a good balance between indica and sativa. The results of this pairing have really made us happy! The bubblegum smell and taste is dominant amongst a high proportion. We truly created a monster with the HBSS she just loves to grow, under the right conditions she grows very large and yields heavily, and each time you pay a visit to her you can't help but touch her flowers and smell the sweetness.
Â
Strain behavior and structure:
Â
Hubbabubbasmellocope is a thin sativa plant that grows fast with great vigour, this fast growth means she can be delicate as her fine branches pack on yield and often needs support late in flower to keep the colas up and in place. She responds very well to training and basically accepts anything you want to do; super cropping, LST, topping. Hubbabubbasmelloscope doesnât spare too many trichomes for fan leaves but she totally encrusts her flowers in lovely sweet resin. Flowers indoor are compact and easy to trim producing a high grade final product.
Warning: she can grow very large! Hubbabubba wanted to outgrow our 6ft polytunnels in height, having to supercrop the main stem to reign her in. Her large open Xmas tree like structure makes it an ideal strain for outdoors.

We're off meph heads! Happy 4/20!
20/4/2020 - 18:00 soaked seed in tap water after pulling out of the fridge to warm up for 24hrs. Just plain tap water I don't know the PH. EC is normally around 80.
shout out to Michelangelogrows for making this cool meme
21/4/2020 - 8:00am moved HBSS seed to wet paper towel and put in ziplock bag. I was only supposed to soak for 12hrs but I slept in so she got a 14hr soak 😅🌱 will check in 24hrs
22/4/2020 - 6:00pm still no action on the first seed, so I decided to drop a replacement. Will be sure to pull this one out in 12hrs
24/4/2020 - 6:00am: Still no action with the first seed, second seed has popped a small tail. Soaking a jiffy pellet in plain tap water. Will likely plant into jiffy tonight at 6:00pm
Got roots 😎
I'm trying a solo cup this run instead of a seedling bag. Although the seedling bags work great, I found them a bit of a pain to transplant with. Gave her her first fertigation of 400EC seedling mix. I PH'd my seedling mix a little low so first fertigation after dilution was around 5.8. I'll be raising EC daily by 100 up to full dose.
Day 2 in the solo cup. Fed 500EC seedling mix at 6.2Ph. She's been moved into the grow cupboard, next to my forum stomper NYGC grow, for space reasons. Getting 5000lux from the QB
9/5/2020 - Been sitting on 1000EC of seedling mix nutrients for a few days now. She is doing well apart from a bit of a scare about damping off. RH under the humidity some was just a bit too high and she began to fall over on herself. Removed the dome and let her media dry out for a day (skipped a fertigation). Propped her up and she is recovering well. Developing 4th node as we speak.Â
13/5/2020 - Yesterday I started giving her early veg nutrients at 1100EC and PH6.0. She's growing well, and working on node number 6. Today I noticed roots beginning to poke out of the bottom of the solo cup so decided to transplant into previously buffered coco in 1 gal pot. Flushed coco with half strength early veg mix down to 600EC. Transplanted and fertigated with full strength mix. When I pulled her out of the solo cup the roots weren't as developed as I usually like (First time in a solo cup) and media fell apart as I was placing her into the 1 gal. Hopefully won't slow her down. Light has been dimmed and dropped down to about 12inches (8000 Lux)
17/4/2020 - Big day is here! Topped to the 3rd node. I noticed a slight Calcium deficiency twist on new growth so will foliar feed CalMag solution at lights out tomorrow. As a bit of a experiment/joke I've chucked the top in a cup in a humidity dome to see if I can root it 😆
Yesterday (18/5/2020) I foliar fed with 800EC of CalMag, a tiny bit of soluble kelp, yucca and a drop of H202. Praying it doesn't burn like my shitty essential oil mix last run.
25/5/2020 - Second topping completed. She was pushing out the 4th node before the top back to the third. The foliar spray I used appears to have burned a couple spots on a few leaves, adding to my hate for foliar feeding anything.
28/5/2020 - Noticed a few roots peeking through the bottom of the pot, began buffering coco for the final transplant tomorrow.
28/5/2020 - transferred to final 5gal pot. Buffered coco, flushed down to 1000EC run off, transplanted and fertigated with nutrient mix. Also did some light LST on the terminal Tops. Now lets hope for some extreme growth 🤞 light is at 20000lux and will slowly ramp up to full power (45000 lux)
8/6/2020 - first pistils found tonight. Will chew through current nutrients mixed and transition to early bloom nutrients. The last week I've been giving her 1000EC and she has been loving it. Slowly winding up to 1200EC this week.
12/6/20 - Moved her into her new home today 😍. From the cupboard into the mars 4x2. She's really filling her half of the tent, I think this girl will Is going to be a monster.Â
