Second grow here. Trying to do a better job with detailed journaling this round as my first grow was a learning experience with the cocoforcannabis.com grow method so I lost track of keeping up with the journal as I was often busy learning how to best care for the plants rather than writing how I was doing it.I will be using GH nutrients Flora Trio, Armor Si, Cal/Mag, Diamond Nectar and Kool Bloom. Grow medium is a 50/50 mix of coconut coir and perlite recycled from the last grow. Buffered and rinsed down to under 0.4 EC to start the seeds. Seeds have been placed in medium in 2.5x2.5" cell tray pots. Currently awaiting germination. I gave up on the paper towel method that I had used in the past with my last grow because over the last few weeks I tried the paper towel method and had seeds germinate quick, but after planting them in the coco they never came up through.
Just did what I consider a rather heavy defoliation. Been reading so much online hard to decide on whats right for my grow, but I do like the idea at least that putting light further down into the canopy may give me larger denser buds. Im just into the second week of flowering switched to 12/12 on 6/29. I actually was seeing pistils before the flip.
16 days into flowering, budlets are forming nicely and starting to fatten up. According to the seed bank I received these MOAB seeds from they have a long flowering period of 9-11 weeks. In 2 days I will be transitioning into mid-flower nutrients. I'm using the cocoforcannabis.com feed chart. I did make a slight variation this time around during my first grow last year I ran into cal/mag deficiency in mid veg so this time around I pushed the nutrients quite a bit harder at the beginning I ran low EC for the first week, but then bumped them up to 1.1 the second week and then was up to 1.4 after week 3. Not saying it's better, but this time no yellow blotches or any signs of nutrient problems. I am in large fabric pots so I am only fertigating twice a day an hour after lights on and then again about 6 hours later. I've also added organic non sulphured molasses to the flowering scheme to see if it "does" really add weight and density to the buds.
Yah I see that and I'm already running Kool bloom and the molasses. Don't want to rock the boat too hard lol.
Still in the first stage of late bloom nutrients about a week to go then the second late bloom stage. Outflow is up about 100 over input but not worried about it at this point still growing well.
My apologies for falling away from this journal. I promise I'm doing much better in the plant training grow challenge. If you haven't already check that one out. I Have 8 MIAB plants the odd part is that I have them in 3 slightly different stages of growth. I am now flushing the one that is ready for harvest i plan to flush until Saturday with plain tap water. Today i used 2 gallobs of water with 10ml of Flira Kleem
Just harvested the MOAB and I am a few days into drying at this point. Just tried a sample and it is a great high. Energetic with a bit of a hypnotic effect to begin with and after a bit of time it settles into a very very relaxing calm. Not a couch lock situation, but you will be inclined to recline. Taste is rather mellow and smooth even before a thorough curing. The biggest players are tastes of citrus and pine with an earthiness to it. All in all I would give this strain a great rating I will have to wait until all the bud is dried before a final weight per plant I didn't way the wet herb.
