Hey all just wanted to share my first organic grow with photoperiods. I used this same soil for my autos. After they filled out the 7gallon fabric pots I placed them in 15 gallons with my mix on the bottom, then topped with roots organics original. Before I switched them to flower I topped them off with my soil mix.
Just teas and top dressing. No monitoring of ph, ec, etc. They're around 149 days old now and will be taking them down next week. No pesticides used. Temps caused biological life to slow down but they made it through with no problems other then gnats and leaf hoppers that have moved on. I will integrate more ipm to avoid that in the future. Have a great week all, happy growing!
Looking awesome @chefomj I applaud your interest in learning and mastering new techniques! ?
Thank you! I'm really happy with the way they grew. I really wasn't expecting to make it through but my soil mix prevailed. I only wish I could have kept soil temps up to promote more biological activity. I really think they slowed down when it got cold.
I was actually looking at heat mats. They have some big ones with a thermostat controller. Or some heating cables and do boxes instead of pots for winter. Indoors is much easier to control this variable but they are basicly outdoor in that regard. If your grow room falls to 40f then you have some problems ?. To keep the soil working the way it should temps shouldn't fall below 65f.
Agreed at soil temps in my tent now temp is at 78 with lights on when they go out it stays at 69 to 70 but only one plant left in there so lots of space... I can’t imagine a space the size that you mention it’s my heaven lol
Wait till you see what I have planned ?. I'm going to do another organic grow in the spring in 2 rooms one with autos and one with photos. And that doesn't include my indoor tent ?.
Dude that's really great of you to do that ? sorry where did you say you lived? Your a real life hero to those people!
