NYGC Color Diet: Purple Gorilla Zombie Punch
Hey everyone! I am a newbie here but not entirely new to growing. For me, growing has been something that has brought my brother and I together, it’s been a hobby we both started to share. He had the tent and the grow going while I researched and found a lot of tips that helped propel us in learning and getting better. He had just started up a new grow and I’ve told him to join here and I believe he has the thing he doesn’t know is that I have gotten an entire setup in equipment that he’s gonna help me put together this Friday. His seedlings are about a week and a half old he popped two zombie Kush in case one didn’t go but both are very healthy and he didn’t want to just kill the other so I told him I would think of something. So I’m gonna grow that one out with a gorilla glue #4 x purple punch. Like I said he knows nothing of this yet I’m keeping it a surprise for our weekly Friday smoke sesh that we share so it’s gonna be a lot of fun and I can’t wait! I’ve been a huge fan of grow cast and everyone on there so I’m so happy to be able to join this and have fun growing together. Here is a pic of all the fun stuff I got that is gonna be setup on Friday.
So I now have the zombie Kush from my bro which is ironman300k on here in case anyone is wondering. A huge thanks to him for all his help with my setup and knowledge on everything I feel like we have gotten really good at this together and we just keep on growing. Here’s a pic of the baby zombie Kush next to her soon to be sister once she breaks ground. I’m still getting everything dialed in but I’m so happy with everything a huge shout out and thanks to growcast to dr coco and of course AC Infinity there stuff is top of the line!
So on Saturday I transplanted both plants the one was early to transplant but my reason for this was because the one is 2 weeks ahead I would have to top dress that one at a different time than the other. This was in 4 weeks I can top dress both and keep it on the same schedule. I was going to up pot to 3 gallon and then into the final 7 gallons they are in now but just decided to put them right into the 7 gallons. They look happy. 🙂
Another week has gone by the gg#4 x purple punch is starting week 3 and the zombie Kush is starting week 5. I’m still trying to adjust this light so they get the most without burning but it’s seeming to be a challenge. I think mostly because the older one can handle more than the other. Overall they look good though.
So it’s starting of week 6 for zombie Kush and the starting of week 4 of the GG#4 x purple punch. I topped the gg#4 x purple punch (after the pic) so I’m gonna spread everything out with some super cropping and eventually a trellis net. I’m planning on a compost tea feeding next week then top dressing the week after with the start of my gradual light schedule decrease that I do to transition into flower. I find better results if I transition into flower instead of the “traditional” switch straight to 12-12 light schedule. Anyways, I think the ladies are happy and so am I! 😎
Now it’s the start of week 7 for the Zombie Kush and week 5 for the GG#4 x Purple Punch. I did a heavy watering about 4 days back and it was a little to much but they bounced back pretty good. I planned on feeding a tea today but due to the heavy watering they are still to wet to feed so that’ll be in a few more days. I got a little lazy with the super cropping (bending and twisting the branches to spread them out and to strengthen up the branches for bigger flowers) so today I did some heavy training and pushed it a little to far 😥
I tried to tape it together but when I returned a few hours later I noticed the tape didn’t hold and it was already turning brown on the bottom so it won’t heal like that. It’s a late topping now lol. So here they are now.
still doing great I think and like I said I’m gonna get better with the training to spread them out. Next week I’ll be top dressing and knocking the light schedule back an hour to start slowly bringing it to 12/12 flower.
So I made up a compost tea last night to try and help with what I think is nitrogen deficiency in the Zombie Kush. The other is doing fine but it’s gonna need more nutrients soon too so the tea will do good for both. Here’s what the Zombie Kush looks like if anyone thinks it’s anything else I’m open to all suggestions.
This is what I put in my tea:
- 4 Gallons of RO water
- 4 tablespoons of unsulphured organic molasses
- 2 cups of worm castings
- 2 tablespoons of kelp meal
- 4 tablespoons of alfalfa meal
- 2 tablespoons of bat guano
- 2 tablespoons of oyster shell
- 20ml of fish shit
Im gonna brew for 2 days before I feed it the first time then there will be enough to feed a second in about 4-5 days.
Now I’m into week 8 of the Zombie Kush and week 6 of the GG#4 x Purple Punch. I’ve done a second feed with the tea and learned that letting that tea steep for longer was a huge difference. The zombie Kush looks a lot better I spent a fair amount of time training them both last night and top dressing them. I decided to wait one more week before I start knocking the light back and I’ll bring it back 1.5 hours each week until I hit 12/12. Here’s what they look like now.
So I did a little watering today, just water, and took a few pics to show what I do with training. First, here is what’s in my Gaia green all purpose dry amendment that I use in my coco mix and top dress.
so now here is a pic before the training...
Heres what it looks like as I’m bending and twisting....
and finally after....
So the main purpose of this is to take any tops that are higher than the others and bend them down, giving the lower shoots a chance to catch up and promote an even canopy. The other thing this does is strengthens the branches and when it’s older I can snap the inner herd of the stalk opening it up to more nutrient flow. This is the first time I’m trying it but it seems to be going well.
I figured I would show you guys a pic of the last grow that my brother did that was grown using the Gaia green organics. This is a blueberry cookies by Dinafem seeds.
If you want to reach out to him at all he’s on here and Instagram @ironman300k
Now going into week 9 of Zombie Kush and week 7 for the Gorilla Glue #4 x Purple Punch and I’m running out of space lol. I want to do some more training but I don’t have the room I’m going to wait till I put my net in then train the branches through. I knocked back the light schedule by 1.5 hours and next week I’ll do that again then, the following week the last 3 hours to reach 12/12. Here’s what they look like now.
