NYGC Color Diet: NG'S W.W. Faceoff!! (DWC x Coco x Soil)
So, in one week a lot of mishaps have occurred.
1) I got a herm from a light leak that i was battling for a week (i knew the source of the light leak, but i didn't realize it was from the tent outside. The beam from the tent was so strong it lit up my grow space without me realizing!)
2) I got a slight light leak on my ACinfinity tent as well sitting outside. I'm currently trying to resolve that issue with ACinfinity themselves 🙂
3) I've been spending the better half of my evenings picking nanners off. A total of 30 sites, about 16 branches removed (they were larfy branches anyway, i had to make the call whether to keep or trash).
I think this will put my flower cycle back a week or two.... Dissapointed, but still glad i was able to resolve the issue! Photos below:
Nothing much going on this week... she's still slightly stretching, i think it's ALMOST over... i'm trying to push back at her so she doesn't keep going, as I want her as squatty as possible (i'm really not feeling doing perpetual harvesting with her, so i want light to strike her from top to bottom with hopefully a minimum of 500 PPFD at the bottom (after some penetration). Everyday i'm just yanking down a branch or two to get her to split open a little more.
I've also inquired in chat and asked around other seasoned growers, about why my fan leaves are yellowing in certain spots. It seems to be doing that A LOT lately, and i was told, as leaves get older, they will get consumed by the plant, and die off, with new leaves growing in its place.
This is simply something i'd like to believe in, as all other aspects are dialed in. Ph 5.8, ec at 1.3, my ratio's are correct in using jack's 3-2-1 formula. and I am not PK boosting anything.
I say, LET HER GO!! 🙂 If anyone else has any advice to the leaf fade please keep me posted! My other plant (3BOG x DG auto) seems to have started doing the same, to a lot of its leaves!
So small, weekly update... I've figured out the yellowing to my issues. It was PK Toxicity!
The PK toxicity was caused due to me letting my reservoir go for so long. I should have expected and known this... But just like everything else... It's a learning experience i've come across, and I have to jot down on my personal journal up in my noggin! if it's 5-gals, 1 week water changes MINIMUM!
Some photos below of her updates... She's starting to fatten up as I keep slamming her with 1400ec everyday.
Im a bit relieved and dissappointed this week... im behind my opponents in the faceoff, but at the same time my girl got FAT! I mean faaaaaaaaaaa-at! She hasnt stopped girthing out yet, so i'm concerned (i didnt do any defol, only lard removal) that her buds will get too fat, and i risk budrot drying.
i may just bubble hash most of her and keep the smaller buds as flower to smoke. We'll see...
IT'S FINALLY OVER!!!
She's frosted out, and she's beauuuutiful finally! I was nervous for her yield... but i guess WW stands up to its reputation.... FROSTY AS HELL right at the last minute (just like clockwork). I'm giving her a flush to kind of stress her out, and i've been going in there willy nilly on purpose to stress her out even further. If i find time today i'll pull her out and start fan leaf defol... if not? ehh.... i'll wait for help tomorrow lol
I waited for help the next day and to the rescue my buddy came! We made quick work (1.5hrs time) pruning defol and trimming. Then we proceeded to move the entire plant upstairs, chop and hang.
5 days later, theyre jarred! It was quite a bit of work, but wet trimming seems to leave me so much room! I think next run i am going to aim for leaving sugar leaves, while trimming fan, and going back and grabbing everything!
P.S. i made 1lb 1oz! Although this scale is inaccurate, i still have about 1/3rd of it in trim, so i have to hit 1lb at least either way!
