The clones seem to have gotten their roots started and are beginning to green up. The mother plant is getting huge and I'll likely have to raise the lights to the roof before I get her out of the tent and off to her new outdoor home where she will spend the remainder of her life. Tent also looks a bit different with my outdoor grow seedlings under the dome. Mother provides some nice shade but I'm only running the Fold 8 at minimum power. All going well.
I finally potted up the clones and they are now vegging in the tent along with mom and the sprouts. It's starting to get pretty packed in here and soon I'll be playing the cannabis grower's version of musical chairs. The seedlings are soon to go to solo cups and I am getting really short on light space. The monster mother seems to be grabbing up most of the light so I had to arrange the clones so they can get some. When I pot up the seedlings there wont be enough room. I have one of the Durban Sunrise harvested plants in the other veg tent in drying mode. Only a couple more days until they are done and I'll likely have to move the mother to the 4x4 veg tent but then lose my drying space. It wont be an immediate problem but the rest of the flower tent will be coming down soon. I'll figure out a way though 🙂
Looks like the clones are happy in their new pots with room to stretch out. A couple had pretty slim root mass and probably should have left them in solos but I've got too much to do to babysit each one. One of the clones will get culled while 1 will go to outdoor garden and the other two will be a breeding project as I plant to reverse one and flower both in the same tent to create some fem Hot Mess seeds.
Mother plant is strong and growing so fast. I topped her back hard yesterday to keep her under the lights. I don't think she'll stay back long though. I do have some room to raise the lights a bit but my seedlings are going to need the light that the mother takes up. I'll likely move her to the 4x4 as soon as I can. I have a crop coming down in the flower tent and I use the 4x4 for drying. Push is coming to shove soon.
I potted up 17 seedlings as most of them are getting started for this year's outdoor grow. I'm trying to get them a month head start before moving them out. Very busy time of year for me.
The mother is getting huge and I'm doing my best to keep her happy while she waits for warmer weather. 2 of the clones are growing quite well but the other 2 just don't seem to be doing anything much. I think they may just not have their root systems developed very well. I was planning to reverse and breed 2 of them but it's not looking very much like that's going to happen. What survives may all go to outdoor as one of the clones is slated to go there. At least I'll have the 2 I needed to start the outdoor.
I've found some tiny black bugs with wings on them so I started mixing in Lost Coast Plant Therapy to my mixes to get rid of them. It's a pretty oily substance and expensive as hell so I hope this does the trick. I'll be treating everything in the tent for the next 3 days to get rid of them. Even with the bugs, I'm happy with how this grow is going. Just a few more weeks and we can be looking to move them outdoor. In the mean time, I'm going to have to utilize both veg tents when these ladies are ready to pot up. I'm a bit concerned as I have a flower tent that is coming down as well and I use that second veg tent as a drying tent.
I'm still treating my bug problem but they don't seem to have much of an effect on the more mature plants. The little seedlings is what I'm most concerned with but all plants have to be treated to get rid of them.
Other than that, not a whole lot to report. 2 of the clones are growing well and strong while the other 2 seem to be super slow to almost dormant. They are green and growing but at a snail's pace. I may not get my breeding project done but I do have my outdoor Hot Mess ladies growing strong.
I had to raise my light last night. My mother plant was about 4" from the light. Having the Fold 8 dimmed down to minimum (40%), she was not in danger of getting burned but also had nowhere to grow. I have very little space left above the lights and happy I have my exhaust filter located outside the tent so I have that little extra room.
I've topped the monster mother plant again to keep her down. Only a few more weeks and I should be able to start hardening them in before planting them outdoor. I'm a bit concerned that my seedlings aren't moving faster for the outdoor, but 3 of the 4 clones are growing pretty strong. The 4th clone I just can't seem to make move, which makes me believe she didn't root well. I planned to trash one anyway so that one will be leaving the tent. Mom and her babies are in great shape. I have bumped the Fold 8 up one click to 60% power to get the seedlings moving a bit.
I needed room in my veg tent to pot up my SAFC grow but had no room. Since I have harvested my Durban Sunrise, the flower tent was empty. I did a quick clean up of the tent and moved mom and her little ones to the flower tent to sit while waiting to move outdoor. I dialed down the wattage of the X6 to 400w and left the light stationary. The ladies seem to be liking it so this solves my problem.
My ladies just keep growing larger. Not so noticeable in the mother plant but her clones are really taking off. I expect these ladies to be going outside in a couple of weeks.
The mother plant has gone outdoor. I'm not sure if she will make it. I didn't expect her to be planted yet but my buddy who owns the land planted her anyway. He said the root ball was like concrete. He didn't cut any off and no Mico in the hole. I guess we will see if she makes it. Her 4 clones are in my indoor garden that I decided to flower. It's those 4 and 3 other plants that didn't go outdoor. Good news is that I didn't trash any plants.
I got my hydro halos installed, feed reservoir cleaned, pump primed, and timers set to flip the ladies today. I seem to have gotten an auto seed in the mix since I have one in flower without any light change. Might be a stray Trizkit. Anyway, the rest are going to flower tonight.
