Grown outdoors, using soil and home-made compost, supplemented with Fox Farms nutes. Grown in a raised bed, and covered with framed shade-cloth.
How Much Does Northern Lights Auto Stretch?
Stretched about 12 inches, but stayed rather short as most autos tend to do.
Harvesting Northern Lights Auto
Due to not allowing enough airflow, I unfortunately had a case of Botrytis. This made me harvest when the trichomes were still about only 5% amber. I normally wait until about 25% are amber. I had to bag and trash 2 large colas, due to Botrytis.
Drying, Trimming and Curing Northern Lights Auto
Another mistake I made was not regulating the temperature of my dry tent adequately, and with the tent being outdoors, plus a heat wave, the dry took only 3 days. This resulted in a bit of over-dried buds, but I was able to re-hydrate them by soaking a cotton ball with distilled water, wrapping in foil and punching holes in the foil. One cotton ball was placed in each mason jar, and the humidity rose to about 63% percent the next day, which is the perfect cure humidity. Total harvest was 2.5 ounces.
The Flavor and Smell of Northern Lights Auto
Smell and taste is woody/spicy. The (dry-herb) vape taste lingers a bit, but it's not bad.
The Effects and Uses of Northern Lights Auto
Definitely for nighttime use. As it's primarily Indica, you get a nice couch-lock, so helps with insomnia (which is my main reason for growing).
My Overall Impressions of Northern Lights Auto by 00 Seedbank
I would definitely recommend this strain, and 00 Seedbank. I probably could have cut down on the nutes, but as I had 5 other strains growing at the same time, I just cut the nutes slightly for this one.
