Grow Review: Green Poison by Sweet Seeds

I grew this strain for 2 straight years, 8 total crops while I was a tester for Sweet Seeds. 24 feminized plants were grow each time, under two 1000 watt bulbs. This strain was basically dead in the water, and per Sweet seeds, I totally revitalized it into one of their more popular items with all my threads on RIU. Grown in Pro-Mix with added perlite and lime in 3 gallon pots. Very easy to grow, it's more of a "beginners" strain.

How Much Does Green Poison Stretch?

They stretched about 2 1/2 times and the stretch lasted just about 2 1/2 weeks each grow. The cola's get big and heavy up top and each plant should be staked early in the grow.

Harvesting Green Poison

The breeders describes them as an early flowering strain and I chopped them at various times, trying to find the exact best period. Ideal was about 8 1/2 weeks, although some were done around 8 weeks and others around 9 weeks. I used trichome color for indications when to cut them and started to chop when the amber came on to about 5-10% of the total.

Drying, Trimming and Curing Green Poison

They were trimmed right off the plant, hung for around 1 week and then slowly cured in paper bags, opening and closing them often for air exchange. They were big and thick cola's, mold could be an issue if you are not careful with them. Trimming was a bitch, as there's lots of smaller buds down below, but the scissor hash was incredible.

The Flavor and Smell of Green Poison

Very sweet, very skunky. Sweet Seeds has never released the genetics of this, so it's all a guessing game. But the skunk is evident in the way it grows, tastes and smells. It's definitely a hybrid of sorts probably the skunk is mixed with either Sweet Tooth or another heavy yielder like Big Bud. This was popular in the 2010-2015 range, not so much these days. It lost something over time, when Sweet Seeds made additional seed runs. They have a "Fast Version" now, which is supposed to finish a week earlier than the regular one. I didn't like it.

The Effects and Uses of Green Poison

It's a 70/30 Indica/Sativa mix, but mostly indica in effects. It's very relaxing and calming, best smoked in the evening. Not couch like, but still, you don't feel like doing much on it. Listening to music or watching TV was my normal routine while smoking it. No problem sleeping either.....

My Overall Impressions of Green Poison by Sweet Seeds

By todays standards, it's probably a bit disappointing. If you are more interested in taste, flavor and sweet smelling, this might catch your eye though. Easy to grow, solid yields, great flavor........there are numerous hybrids made with it now which says something I guess. For the 2 years I grew it, people loved it. These days, most want a stronger buzz.
