Promix blended with organic soil amendments. 7 gallon grow bag under a mars hydro tsw2000. 3x3 flowering tent with two trellis nets for training (not a proper scrog, just for support)
How Much Does Blue Dream Stretch?
The stretch is significant, extending 3-1/2 weeks into the 10 week flowering time.
Harvesting Blue Dream
Blue dream takes a full ten weeks or more to ripen. At about day 66-68 the long/dense flowers take on a visibly frostier appearance as the trichomes go from clear to milky. I harvest once the trichomes are 90-95% cloudy. At this point, there are very few amber trichomes. Blue dream trichomes seem to take their time going from cloudy to amber.
Drying, Trimming and Curing Blue Dream
Larger leaves removed at harvest, then hung and dried in a 2x2 tent with air exchange. Temps were a little high (65-70) with ~50% humidity. Not ideal, as it took only 10 days to dry enough for the curing process.
The Flavor and Smell of Blue Dream
Blue dream has a unique flavor that I would almost describe as lavender/soapy, but not in an unpleasant way. It's a very enjoyable flavor that lingers, and smells much like it tastes.
The Effects and Uses of Blue Dream
Blue dream has a cerebral, energetic, very sativa affects. I find that over serving myself can cause a little anxiety. Any amount will cause dry mouth.
My Overall Impressions of Blue Dream by ILGM
Blue dream has been my favorite strain to grow and smoke. It may not be as potent as some newer strains, but the affects and flavor make it worth the time and grow space. The flowers are stretchy, but fill out really well. The leaf to flower ratio makes for easy trimming.
