Grow Review: Apex RBX by Ethos Genetics
24 plants under two 1000 watt HPS. 5 gallon pots with a pro-mix, lime and perlite mix with Botanicare Pure Blend Pro nutrients (99% organic). Cal/Mag in all the watering's too while using reverse osmosis water. It was easy to grow and the odor wasn't too bad on this one.
How Much Does Apex RBX Stretch?
They were flowered at 4 weeks and most of the plants were between 22-24 inches at that point. They stretched around 3X but the stalks were hardy and were able to maintain their weight. Not a difficult grow with a strain that has a lot of sativa in it.
Harvesting Apex RBX
These put off a lot of color, which is nice to see but varying pheno's made for a 10 day harvest window. Some pheno's were well done at 8 weeks and others were taken at 9 weeks. A few plants went a few more days too. I didn't see much amber, most all of the trichomes were opaque at harvest.
Drying, Trimming and Curing Apex RBX
Trimmed wet, hung dry for 7 days. Then put in containers for 12 days, burping a few times daily. Then sealed up in seal-a-meal bags for future use.
The Flavor and Smell of Apex RBX
Diesel and Cookies parents and both strains genetics were evident. The Cookies pheno's were better overall while the Diesel pheno's looked better but were weak in potency. Very tasty and smelled great- sweet, gassy, and spicy- but where's the buzz?
The Effects and Uses of Apex RBX
Very sativa like, my guess would be 80/20. Clear, uplifting and hits the eyes and forehead hard. A bit racey the first 20 minutes, then it all calms down to a heady buzz. Short lived buzz, vaping leads to a better high and experience.
My Overall Impressions of Apex RBX by Ethos Genetics
Disappointments all around. Yield was short for a heavy yielder. Buzz was mild and uninspired, but tasty and with some nice flavor profiles. Not a strain I would ever do again and it actually convinced me to stop doing Ethos strains for 5-6 grows.
