How Much Does 9 lb Hammer Stretch?

Stretch wasn’t too bad. It say the plants increased in height about 75% so a 12 inch plant would become about a 20 inch plant. Mine were bigger than that but I’m trying to keep the math simple for explanation purposes.

Harvesting 9 lb Hammer

I grew two seeds and got two females plants. Growth seems about average. Not to tall and not too squat. The phenotypes expressed in these two seeds were different from each other and surprisingly so. One was just an average plant and one was frosty from the beginning of flower. The frostier one is less complex of a high while the average looking one has a satisfying and well rounded high. The differences aren’t drastic but not what I expected. This plant is kind of picky. I grew a two clones in coco and it lagged behind all other plants. It hates low temps and doesn’t like to be over fed. Harvest was at about 15-20% amber trichomes. It had high yeilds.

Drying, Trimming and Curing 9 lb Hammer

I dried in a old chest freezer with a temperature and a humidity controller keeping it at 60f at RH of 55%. I’ve since switched to a frost free fridge for this as it was little hard on the freezer. I did some loose wet trimming and light trimming once dry. One annoying thing is that it has a lot of tiny single leaves all through out the bud making trimming a pain.

The Flavor and Smell of 9 lb Hammer

The breeder describes grape, lime, and melon. I definitely get the grape hi-chew candy flavor and some limeade flavor/ aroma. There is a touch of gas, some earthy tones, some muskiness. The aroma in the jar does have a hint of Mindoro/melon schnapps and hot garbage.

The Effects and Uses of 9 lb Hammer

Described by the breeder, podcasters, and numerous reviewers as being a heavy indica my experience was different. Instead of what I expected to be a heavily sedative smoke it instead drapes you in a sense of serenity that is hard to describe. Kinda dreamy, a bit foggy, sitting in the predawn silence of a forest at the edge of a lake before the birds have started singing. Just very relaxing to the mind. Reflective and contemplative I think best describes it. I have never felt too much of a body high using it. It never got down to my toes even when going back to more. This is a indica heavy hybrid and I think The phenotype I got are heavy on the sativa lineage. It has very long thin leaves but with short internode spacing. You’re mileage may very based on phenotype expression.

My Overall Impressions of 9 lb Hammer by Jinxproof Genetics

This is a good strain that I feel like I could grow better and get better results. Because it is fussy about feeding I think it’s ideal for coco. I grew some clones in coco but let them veg too long and they started growing into the light during stretch. I tried pruning them but that made them herm . I will defiantly grow this strain again. The relaxing buzz is so welcome after a stressful day that I like to start with this early in the evening and then go hit something heavier just before bed.
